coated with floor stripper after abit of a foam problem

The other motor working fine. Also when I pulled it apart there was what looked like a gluey foam holding it in place or insulating, if anyone can tell me what that is so I can pick up some more that'd be fucken amaze.

Your windings are likely cooked. Rebuild it or replace it. If you live near anyplace with ag or industry there will be an electric motor repair place that can hook you up. Get your wallet ready, they charge business rates. Basically, add a zero. Electric motors with real horsepower ratings (not this 10 HP, 8 amp, 110 volts shit) cost real money. New, you are looking at probably $150. Used generic? 1/3-1/3 that. Purpose built replacement goes the other way. Double it.

Looks like the brushes froze up or wore out. You can see one of them in that pic to the right of the armature.
If the motor wires don't look burnt anywhere...

The brushes are spring loaded and can sometimes be replaced.
Might be able to find some with good measurements of an old one.
Maybe they're just froze up.

The armature contacts would need sanded or filed down to clean them up. Spin it fast somehow to do it true.

After it's cleaned up, there needs to be a depth to the gap between the contacts, so file them down if necessary.

So today I kept taking it apart further and noticed some marks on the (armature?) Curious if they should be there and if not is it repairable.
