I had an idea today in leaving the gym and my mom told me to share it with you. Imagine how easy it would be to wash your gym clothes and fold them back in your bag in the time it takes you to shower. My idea is for a single outfit clothes washer and dryer for gyms and pools. I know the mechanics and seals of this are a night mare but do you think this is possible? I drew out how i think it should work. I envision it as a reverse engineered gun. With the tumbler being the barrel. I believe it's a multiple billion dollar idea if it is possible. Anything is possible right?

If you look at a swimsuit water extractor it's the most similar machine.

I also think of a agitator free model where it is just one tumbler system.

>>

>>
>>1178659
Yeah it'll wash a dildo.
>>
>>1178658
Yeah but one outdit convenience at a gym or pool
>>
Some constructive criticism or praise please...
>>

It's stupid. You're stupid. But good attempt, keep trying.
>>
>>1178670
I don't think it will be terribly water or power efficient, due to its small scale. You'd probably have more luck washing your clothes in the shower and putting them on an electric drying rack inside the changing room/cubicle before washing yourself.

Your mom knows about /diy/?
>>
>>1178663
You're trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist is my point, if a gym wants to wash clothes they will just get washing machines.
>>
>>1178677
This. Does she ever post on /s/? There's been a ton of granny porn lately, not that I'm complaining.

I could see high-end gyms using this kind of system. Go, work out, shower, put clean clothes back in the bag & ready to use next trip. Downside is that people like to wear different gym clothes once in a while, and team sport sites already have laundry so no personal systems needed.

Efficiency will be low. Clothes would have to be completely dried so they don't mildew. First-world problem solver for sure, so the market size is much lower than you think. But yeah, I'd probably use it if it came free with membership.

Campers have this.

Maybe 38 is a granny where you come from.
Oh wait, you're 14, right?
>>
>>1178730
My friend is a grandfather and he is 34, he is Mexican though.
>>

How old are you?
>>
My universities gym already has this. They built it a few years ago and did an add on last year. There's two small units on the wall. One unit, you put it in and let it sit for a few minutes, the other unit you put the clothes in and hold the lid down and it will speed dry them. Pretty cool desu

There are a couple of things working against you.

Washing works by using warter as a solvent. . Soap helps the water by breaking down oils.

Solvent processes take time and energy.

Then you have the drying process. To dry fast you need high heat, but to high you damage the favric.

You can do things to accelerate thr washing and drying processes.

Like washing in high heat and high pressure.
And drying in very low preassure and high heat to vaporize the water faster, in addition to spinning at high speed ti remove as much water as possible .

Good luck

I am a Production manager at a commercial laundry. We wash 250000 pounds a week. If you want clean and fast you need a front load washer. You get the most agitation that way. The next best is a high powered jet blasting water. So ditch the top loader. The time is the killer here though. Wash and drying in a 10 minute shower time is hard. Especially since they would need to be switched part way through. The fastest way to dry is to iron. A mini washer and ironer press as opposed to a traditional air dryer would be best. Big reputable companies won't make a high quality mini dryer that could stand up to continuous use. The press would be multi purpose in that if you came in wearing nice clothes you could press your shirt too before going back to work.

Washing machines require a LOT of energy. This is your biggest problem.
