How hard is it to work concrete? I want to make a DIY quarter pipe and in theory it doesn't seem complicated or anything.

One thing tho, when making the conection at the start of the lip don't just start from the ground, dig a bit like in that picture, or even deeper, so the transition doesn't just get fucked after a month.
