Belt keeps slipping off this cheap 500W belt sander. Any tips apart from replacing belt? I was thinking adding a lip to the gears or something, maybe forcing the cover closer to the gears.

Rollers have to be 100% parallel or belt will walk off.
Not 99%
Not 99.95%
Adding a lip will just shred or bunch-up the belt.

Appears you can adjust belt tension... holes on those loose nuts are slotted.
