I want to make myself a baseball cap, or many depending on how the first one turns out.
I want to make it out of ripstop material, basic 6 panel design is what I'm going after, style as pic related.
I have access to a sewing machine, and I know where to get my fabric, but I wanted to ask if there is anyone with any advice or experience they'd like to share. I'm unsure of how to go about making the vent holes in the panels, or attaching the brim to the cap. I'm currently scouring the internet for information as well
Thanks guys

Go to a thrift store and buy a cheap hate with the design you want. Take it apart. Learn from it. Use it as a pattern for what you want to make.

Great idea mate, I'll definitely do that

Can I ask why you want to build a cap instead of buying one? They're cheap enough, so I don't think you'll win out on costs.

You should try doing the Alien Covenant caps, they look really good.

Its like a button hole but smaller, look up button hole techniques.

Isnt it just attached under the lip inside of the hat?
I agree reverse engineering the exact hat you want will do you well

I want to make fitted hats from ripstop camouflage pattern fabric without velcro all over them.
The product I desire is not made or sold. The OP picture is from a hat startup that failed, I figured I could just make some hats for myself.
This endeavor has nothing to do with saving money. Just a fun project to make something that I want, that will be custom to my desires.
