I have a Yihua 939D station which came with a 907F soldering iron handle. Can I use one of those 24V 50W replacement heating elements? Will it just perform weaker or damage my station? Those 24V 50W heating elements are so much cheaper and easier to find. Thanks.
it'll be fine if it's using the same type of temperature sensor inside the element.
(this is assuming you've actually gotten your meter out and measured 24V at the working end? because china.)
The voltage should be the same. Not sure about the temperature sensor because they dont advertise that on the replacements, but they do have the same amount of leads, which is 4 leads. I think the only different is the wattage of the iron. The original heating element is around 60 to 80 watts from different sources. The replacement with be 50 watts. Should be same voltage. It should still work, right?
I've heard about thermocouplers and thermistors. I think there is a third type also. But how can I tell which one I have visually without testing leads? I wont get to test leads on a heating element im buying online.
