The hemi 6es are cool motors, but mines fucked. It's got terrible blow by and a few issues with the electronic ignition module. So it's getting a 304 out of a VS commodore. Mopar guys give me shit for wanting to put a GM engine in it, but it's a VJ ranger that has VH front, CL headlights and grille and VK doors. It's a bitsa already and fitting a different engine to it isn't going to ruin any originality.

Old jeep. Been a project for 2 years, probably will be for a few more. Also just finished getting a quad working and now working on its twin (86 and 87 Honda fourtrax 350s). Third project is mounting a cb, inverter, and stereo deck mounted in an old army toolbox I can hopefully run off the back (trailer) plug in the old jeep has. Don't wanna cut into the body, convert to 12v, or mount a bunch of modern electronics in it, but could sacrifice a toolbox for this purpose.

Im about to start building lithium packs if you are interested. If not then i recomend the biggest deep cycle or agm battery u can find and a solar panel. I have built some boom boxes with old radios amd had good success.

There is a trailer outlet on the back of the Jeep that I was going to run a few extra power lines to and use them for power by just running a trailer line from the connector to the box. I'd thought about a small four wheeler battery for inside the box to keep memory in the stereo or charge a phone or something, but power for the inverter will probably come from the jeep. I just bought 2 new 500cca agm batteries for it.
Lithium would be a good choice for the box though, we sell lithium four wheeler batteries at my work, man are they light. Good luck on your 300, I'm about to start on my other 350, the "parts bike" but it doesn't need much to run again, piston and jug and some misc stuff, keyswitch etc.

I've had this ejection seat from an F-4 Phantom for years, and I'm going to turn it into a usable chair by adding a base and making a seat cushion. My plan is to do it in a way where I can add stick, throttle, and pedal supports if I want to use it for flightsims down the line.

I believe it is deep cycle. I'll just get whatevers used on the shelf (work at advance and usually stock used quad batteries for $20) I don't have much of a sizing choice, toolbox pictured, and it should already be pretty heavy with the cb, inverter, stereo and other assorted bits.

What's good about them is it doesn't matter if you thrash them.

What they need is a crate engine in them, wide meaty cheap nascar steelies and some better suspension components if that's important. None of which needs to be very sophisticated.

The dirt cheapness of them can allow you to more easily create a very fast car that potentially can have some good functional aesthetics to it.

holden made a 253, 308 and 308 in their v8's but they're all basically the same engine in diffent displacements most parts interchange from memory. otherwise you could order holdens with a 307,327 or 350 chev.

run a 304 with a tunnel ram or twin carbs to keep it really peroid correct if you want but if you get bored you could always stroke it out to 355, 383 or 396 if you get bored and have spare cash laying around. mate of mine hate a 383 in his hq and it used to lump along.

still working on tools repair just finished fitin the handles on 3 hammers and wire brush and grind it a bit it with grinder, fond another hammer heads in boxes like 8 another hammers to repair, 1 file to weld with broken off hanadle, like 40 files that need a handle, several axes etc

is it hard to change the con rod in a fourtrax? Mine is damaged and I was warned never to attempt it in a honda 50 as all the gears fall out and it is hard to reassemble.

I don't know. I haven't split the case although I'm sure I will when I start working on the other quad.
I've always thought that if men put it together, a man can take it apart and fix it, and never hesitated to dig into something like that.
