So I'm about to dump some pics of my oven. My bottom element stop working so I decided to investigate

It would appear that this is the source of the problem. Years of being a shit cooking and oven boiling has caused a build up of stuff drain down the back.

That sludge shit had been dripping down the back and landing directly onto the (thangy) connection point of the power to the element slowly corroding it, so I believe

Now this is the point that was sopose to connect to the element. Its sopose to have like a plate on it so I can screw it on to the element connection point

Closer look. You can see all the corrosion and stuff

Here's a pic of how they should look together. As you can see there's the element plate, the screw and the ovens connection plate

So I'm wondering now is there anything I can do that's actually safe. I don't want to kill my mom because I did a shoddy job.

Tl;Dr. My oven connection wire/plate(please correct me) has corroded and fallen off. Now I'm looking for a safe solution to try and reconnect it. The screws also messed up

I hope someone can help me out thanks

*supposed

And i can't make anything out from these blurry pictures. Descriptions such as "a thing like a plate on it" don't help either. Do you need to redo a crimp terminal connector or something?
>>
>>1154133
Bruh I don't know the terms. But terminal connector sounds right. Terminal connector coming from the oven to the element has come off. Sorry my phone camera sucks balls. But if you've fondled with an oven before i hoped you could paint the rest of the picture in your head
>>1154125
That's the terminal connector coming from the oven

it sounds like a pretty simple repair
- take sandpaper and remove all the crud from the terminal on the element - be gentle coz if it breaks, you gotta replace the element.
- get a kit of female 1/4-inch wire spade terminals (females, the red ones should be the right size) from the hardware store, possibly the electrics section or the automotive section
- cut out the old female from the wire, throw it away. strip 1/2-inch of insulation from the wire, stick that bare wire into the female terminal from the back, squeeze with heavy pliers.

the wire might stick out the back of the oven and not allow it to be closed. normally, ovens use 90-degree female terminals which stick out much less. but i havent see those on sale anywhere except online.

This it advice looks spot on. Those 'spade terminal'(that's them right?) Look like exactly what I need.
I don't understand what you mean when you say the wire might stick out though. The element terminal and the terminals in your pick are straight (180°) like this pic
>>1154126
Its poor quality but you can see the screw atleast and that's all connected.
Anyways thanks a million I didn't know about spade terminals I'm sure my local ware store will have stock(I've seen them there before)

I'd make sure to get the insulated ones, assuming that's insulation I can see and not thick-as copper. Some spade connectors come with plastic shrouds around the socket-end, and these are what you're looking for. Even better if you get the ones with heatshrink-tubing. I also highly recommend buying a crimping tool, because using pliers or whatever you have lying about really doesn't cut it. Or does cut it, if you're using the wire-cutters of the pliers, but that's the wrong kind of cutting.

Now I'm not sure if the insulation might be prone to heat, so avoid nylon and go for PVC or heatshrink. I'd personally solder it with a strong splice and plenty of heatshrink if there's room, but you should be fine with the spades, they're rated to 415VAC. Just make sure you get the right diameter, the three colours are three different diameters:
>Red: Cable entry size 4.3mm Wire size 0.75 - 1mm dia
>Blue: Cable entry size 4.5mm Wire size 1.5 - 2.5mm dia.
>Yellow: Cable entry size 6.6mm Wire size 4 - 6mm dia.
This might not be universal, so check the sizes at the store to the size of your wire.

Best of luck, and do an idiot check to be sure that you aren't connecting the wrong wire. Ideally you'd draft up a circuit diagram, but if there's only one wire break, than you shouldn't have a problem. I'd also check fuses and that sort of thing if the loose wires look like they touched metal.

Once you get it fixed, bake that potato camera in it for about an hour.

There's only one wire that's disconnected. So I hope I don't make the mistake of shoving it up my ass in the process:)
I measured the diameter myself and it looks like 2.5-3mm.
Thanks for the extra info I'll try make sure it insulated and such. I don't have a solder(er?) But I'm sure crimping will work just fine

Gimme me money for a better phone and I might consider it
