How do I send wifi to my shed 100m away?

Can someone explain how I would go about getting internet to my shed.

I have wifi in my house, and it would be handy to be able to watch youtube guides in my shed when I'm doing things.

I've looked on google, but I can't find a simple explanation, and I know very little about routers etc.

Pic unrelated.
>>
Long Lan cable. Attach it to another router in shed. Use that router in bridge mode.
>>
what kind of money do you want to sink in this?
what kind of hardware do you have so far installed in your house?

cheapest would be to lay a ethernet cable from your router/modem to the shed and put an AP there for 10-20 bucks.

without cable, you need something like two CPE201 for 100 bucks
>>
>>1149684

Ideally I'd like to spend less than £200 which is about $250

Wireless would be ideal, I will look into CPE 201 cheers mate

USB wifi should be all you need. If not, add a dish to it. Google, "wokfi". I use the metal hoods off a chicken brooder lamp to make mine. Those are expensive, but mine are all second hand. You can use a wide bowl or mesh screen.
>>
>>1149679
CANTENNA
>>
>>1149689
shit mistyped, its CPE210
>>
>>1149682
This is really the best way. If you can't do that, use a router that has good software, a good antenna, and 802.11b support. Old b can go a lot lot farther, if you're willing to sacrifice speed.

10 feet long USB extension cable ($10-$25)
USB wifi ($10-$25)
Bowl/dish (Free-$10)

Wokfi: $20-$60, but seriously, just the USB wifi should do it for 100m.

Mount it using whatever you have.

>>1149679
Do it the slav way.

Honestly, look into Ubiquity access points. I get roughly a mile between to two m5 nano's , I have one on the house and the other on the roof of my workshop. Have it hooked up so one ethernet port goes to the camera under the ap and the other feeds my switch in the shop for pc and ap300. Used to just have the one on the house, but connection got spotty in the tin shithouse that the shop.
>>
>>1149689
>>1149701
Also OP im a uk fag too. I think the nano m5's were £60 each but you could probably get away with just the one.
>>
My shop is about 75 feet away from my router. I connected a USB wifi dongle to a USB extension cable, then poked it through a hole in the wall protected by a small piece of PVC pipe and two couplings (one on each end) which won't slide out from my metal wall. Gobbed 3M 5200 over the whole thing like a large tan turd. Works fine since 2007. If it ever dies I'll chop off the end, thread new USB cable thru pipe and do it again.

Cheap, fast, easy.
>>
>>1149704
Wait what? Just sticking a usb wifi antenna through a metal bowl will increase the signal? Does the bowl have to be a specific size or shape?
>>
>>1149679
you can get an AC1900 Range extender from netgear for about 120ish USD, the ones that are big tower shapes with external antennas. Just put it up near a window facing your shed and you should be fine.
Just make sure the antennas are facing the shed at different angles, ie, not pointing at it.
Otherwise, if it's on the same electrical grid as the house, which I doubt, but I don't know. You could use a powerline adapter and attach a booster to it, or use a wifi powerline adapter.
>>
>>1149844
Yeah i was gonna suggest a powerline as OP is prob using electricity from the home to the garden shed. Ask your ISP first for freebies before you buy them though.

Use direct burial cable so your yard doesn't look like a downtown chinese city.

>>1149844
Or this, and run an extension cord to the shed.

t. low voltage installer
>>
>>1149684
What is that
>>
>>1149827
The idea is to both block out unwanted signal, and to hopefully gather more of the signal you want, like in a parabolic dish.

Personally, I've wondered about whether or not it actually works, and if a yagi might be better. But I'm not an RF geek.
>>
>>1149679
You're better off running a cable. You could build a pair of parabolic dishes tuned to focus on each other at that distance but you'll end up spending more time and money than you would have with the cable.
>>
I bought an asus signal repeater for my cuck shed. Works like a charm.
>>
try the powerline ethernet adapters. check on amazon. screw wireless
>>
How about using some preterminated fiber and a pair of media converters.
>>
>>1150231
If you've got electric from the house, use this. I think they go for around 60 now.

Fuckimg slavs a selfie stick is $5
>>
>>1151215
5$ is more than twice the minimal hour wage, and you can get average low quality bottle of vodka for it. Wouldn't waste it on selfie stick imho.
>>
>>1149887
the problem with the wok and bowl designs are it's taking an omni-directional antenna (USB stick) and trying to turn it into a highly directional antenna (parabolic), minus the secondary reflector. If you're not actually plugging information into something like CST MWS and/or don't have test equipment to measure SWR, it's going to be a real crapshoot.
>>
>>1149679
There are certain cables recommended for certain distances. It's in the COMPTIA A+ certification book.

>Identify correct type and or size of cable

>Figure out the spec for how deep it needs to be. Which might be below the frost line. I think thats two feet where i live. Could be four.

>Buy two routers that support that cable and your internet equipment

>Configure with puter.

Or this

>Buy straight talk wireless internet service with mobile hotspot.

YOu might be able to put a signal booster in your house and just pick it up with a wireless router in your shed but, i don't know the distance
>>
Can't you just run cat 6 cable through some plastic conduit and bury it?

Fucking easy and rock solid reliable
