>>
Define diy, portable and computer.
>>
I think that a raspberry pi is the best way to make a really compact computer. With almost no experience you could make a working computer and even install windows in it

this ever happening is as probable as taking a bunch of transistors, a spool of wire, some solder and an iron, throwing it all in a big box and shaking the shit out of it in hopes of creating an i7

Ive considered this as i hate laptip touchpads and keyboards and want at least a 19" monitor. Onviously the batteries will be heavy even if u use lithium.

Gonna reinforce some old school plastic suitcases with a layer or 2 of fiberglass in the inside. Will glass and glue wood in there to screw pc shit to.

Cant speak for the arduino but instaling pc's in cars is made a lot more efficient with an opus. Its a dc/dc power supple for your pc from a car charging system.

Suitcase is good and should be solid. Locks. And unsuspecting to theives.

With a solid state hard drive the only moving parts are fans.

Good luck op.

Any more specifics on your idea?

Get used totally obsolete rugged luggable case off Ebay, casemod that and do what thou wilt with keyboard and mouse.

People make PC cases out of pizza boxes. You really should choose a COMPUTER forum but you came here. Casemodding is as old as the internet.

The pi already is a working compact computer

>>1145614
So you want a cell phone?
>>
>>1145709
Closest you'll get to a full, pocket sized computer. Very very affordable too
>>
>The pi already is a working compact computer

yeah, once you add an SD card, an operating system, a power supply, an ON-OFF switch, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and a screen. (all things which are included or substituted-for in a $50 android phone)

Pi + official screen + explorer case + power bank

Hey guys i was over in vr but those autistic fuckers never say anything useful.
Looking into a cheap gaming laptop or ras-pi. Just need it for uni lectures and emulation up to gamecube or wii.
Figured i need intel i5 +, hd4000 + graphics card, and decent battery life. 500gb+ hdd preferably.
Any input or help? Is pi worth it for emulation? Is it worth building a new laptop considering that its $500-700 aud for this from cheap local electronic shops (jb hi fi,harvey norman, etc)... :C
I guess my question is should i diy/ raspberry pi/ shut up and buy?
>>
>>1145711
Uhm, i'm pretty sure that phones are closer than a raspberry

I think that this is what you are looking for https://www.crowdsupply.com/eoma68

Do some work yourself, get yourself some money, walk into a store yourself, and buy a laptop YOURSELF
