Depending on the plastic, it's likely to dissolve in acetone.

Extreme cold can make plastic weak and brittle and easy to remove. Not sure what it'll do to metal

Had this happen a few weeks back. Ended up cranking the fucker to 11 and trying to not breathe as much, kinda worked.

So I've managed to get most of it off with a knife, but still a lot in the grooves, might try some boiing water and a metal scourer.

Gonna turn it on full and try to burn the rest off after that
