Hey guys.
Can i do something with this keyboard?? It has 18 pins. Maybe turn it into USB or something? Or it is garbage...
It is from and old mailstation. The LCD is destroyed and the mailstation doesn't work anymore, is dead.
Thank you.
You may need to write some drivers. Take the entire piece apart, it might be easier to just use the base keyboard and attach some microcontroller that'll take the input from the keystrokes. Teensy is good, and often used for this.

this is all you need
there is an arduino firmware for using the board as a keyboard, you just need to write a simple code like "if row 1 and col 1 is on, then press key X"
look for "arduino matrix keyboard" for wiring and code example, its pretty straightforward
the wiring will be a mess though
Thanks for the info guys. Im going to do some research .
