I desperately need a last mile commuter, this is nearly perfect for my needs lightweight, portable, cheap, and reliable.
The only problem I have is that 15 MPH is not fast enough. Is it possible to mod this particular scooter (swagtron e scooter) or should I try my luck with a different scooter?

It would be, but, to be honest, I don't trust that style of scooter at much faster than the 15mph it already goes. Tiny wheels with no suspension = sketchy at any sort of speed.
>>
>>1137198
Is it simple to do it? I'll do it if it is, maybe even find out how I can put a variable speed throttle on it
>>
You can hit 25mph on a bicycle easy if youre not a fat fuck
>>

I love bikes, but my lifestyle makes them cumbersome. I'll get one when my move.

Are you gay? Id imagine you could just get a wider seat
>>

Is it electric? Just add another battery.

Is it gasoline? Just add abother gas tank

Is it possible to just put any battery? How do I find out if it'll work?
>>
>>1137273
the motor will probably release the smoke if the electronics don't, you'd need a higher power motor, and by the proprietary look of that hub, you'd be more likely to succeed buying a new scooter.

Sshhh

I might have actually convinced him that 2 gas tanks will make it go faster. Hopefully he'll repeat that to people in real life.
>>
>>1137921
Well technically putting two batteries in series could make your EV go faster, if the motor and electronics could handle it, I just assumed maybe you were implying that he couldn't go faster because he didn't have the tank/battery capacity.

>need a last mile commuter
>4 minute mile isn't fast enough

Throw another battery in series with the current one and see what happens. I put an 18V drill battery into pic related and it went from 2.5 mph to about 10. The only problem was that it flipped my kid over instantly, which wouldn't have been funny if he got hurt. Luckily, I was ready for that possibility, as I know he only weighs like 30lbs.

Derp forgot pic. It has a 6v battery normally, and I brought it to 24 with both batteries fully charged.

Put bigger wheel on back to go downhill. Pic related

Thats the art of trol, say something that sounds somewhat true.

Holy shit this works? Ok you and OP need to check the datasheets of the motors in your "vehicles". If the scooter is rated at higher than the battery voltage, OP's good to put another battery in series, and if neither of your motors are rated at much higher than the battery voltage, then it might be possible for OP might be good to put one in series. In the unlikely case that they both have the same motors, go for it. As long as the kiddie-car's engine isn't letting the smoke out, that is. Like this video:

What's so cumbersome about a bike over a scooter? When I was contemplating using one, It's just lock it up at the train station, then ride it to and back from work, leaving it locked up.
>>
>>1138065
No smoke was let out in the making of the "super"car. People overvolt those motors all the time. There's an entire community of people modding these motors. I expect you'll just have a greatly reduced lifespan on the motor. Also, I didn't care about the motor since the kid was getting a new set of wheels in a month anyway. Yes it works, but I only had it rigged up with a non-permanent, electrical taping. It's funny; there was a perfect fit for my drill battery next to the stock battery inside the chassis and it was even the right shape for it. The whole scene was like something out of Home Improvement, and I was Tim "The Toolman" Taylor.

I live in a city with lots of impracticality.
Lots of hills, lots of maniacal drivers, skinny streets, swarms of pedestrians in cramped places, limited rack access, lots of bus transfers, and more. I still plan on getting a bike, but that time isn't now.

>swagtron
more like fagtron. Buy a GWheel.
>>
>>1137165
yeah, LS1 swap. It'll cost you just $500 and an afternoon
>>
Replace the motor controller with one that has no speed limiter. If it's not artificially limited increasing voltage is the only option.

Watch out /o/ has arrived
You should get
a Twingo instead
