my basement flooded and I had to tear up the carpet, does anyone have any advice on how to remove carpet glue from concrete? is there an easy way or should I just start scraping?
They make floor strippers but im pretty sure its just dilute acetone. I'd say get a couple cans of acetone, dilute it a little in water, and mop the whole place with it, liberally. Just vent very well

If you are going to put carpet back down you don't need to remove every little bit of glue.
Just scrape it until it's smooth and the new carpet will go right over the old spots.
Don't leave any bumps but you don't have to remove every trace of the old.

foam backed carpet is frequently glued down
on 'normal' carpet with a foam pad underneath, the foam pad is glued in place when used on concrete.

I work for my state gov. and all the carpet in our buildings comes in tiles that get glued down, makes them very easy to replace.
>>1132467
Its pad glue not carpet glue you cant staple pad down on concreat so you glue thedges
>>1131585
Cover the glue with vaseline to soften it and then use a toothbrush to take it off
>>1132421
not the guy who suggested it but an Oscillating Tool would do great for that provided you had a steady enough hand
>>1132574
I lay flooring for a living i use a scraper to get pad glue up i cant justify. Using an ocilater to get it up if the concreat has to that clean you scrape it then emboss it
