Hey there /diy/nosaurs. I frequent a bunch of the blue boards, particularly /out/ and /diy/. Both boards constantly ask for infographics so I started compiling a library of them back in 2015. It's since been updated over and over, and I'm working on another update as I type this. It's a bit over 6GB and contains infographics, books, audio, and video files. Recently I was able to upload it all onto Google Drive:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2ILpxMxNOBzZGxpNmtQQzBfWlE

Please note - the library was made for the user to drill down to the project or predicament at hand, so if you're simply browsing you WILL run into redundancies. Happy reading!

4 and 8 are pretty true though.

I think 7 is also true, but possibly the slowest method one could use.
>>
>>1131095
Everyone knows that 7 is true.
Except when it's not. It requires a certain kind of maze to work.
>>
>>1131106
Google image map of retarded corn maze i dont wanna go to. Draw path on the way there. Have everyone put 5 bucks ina pot. I throw 20 bucks in for a 3 minute head start.

Turn 360. Walk to other side of maze.

Make 100 while eating popcorn.

Win $50 for fasted newbie time all year.

Suck my dick everyone around me.

Its not hard though. At worst your dealing with inch thick pine. My brother locked me out of the house when I was 14 and I kicked the door in. My apartment was robbed because a guy kicked my door in. Another relevant point is that I scared him off with an ax not a deadbolt. Another relevant point is that he broke out of one of my windows when leaving.

not that guy, but: what else do you do with them if you aren't a hunter? shoot open cans like Homer S? Target practice might be fun stuff, but not useful. If you enjoy it, that's fine, most people don't. Therefore making a gun pointless.

Get a good baseball bat or an axe. If yuo are super-duper paranoid, get multiples hidden around your house. One in the bathroom, on at the door, one under the bed.... still cheaper and safer and easier to upkeep than a gun, plus no one will get shot "by accident" through bathroom stalls by people in the paralympics.

>not that guy, but: what else do you do with them if you aren't a hunter?
Go target shooting with my dad. He's 58yrs old, had a heart attack and can't go on roller coasters, had a motorcycle accident and can't ride anymore, and had a hernia and can't ski, skydive, or bungee jump. We go shooting because it's the last thrill he has left, and it's american as hell to go shooting with your dad.

>If you enjoy it, that's fine, most people don't. Therefore making a gun pointless.
Gun and ammo sales are at an all-time high so statistics are against you here. As far as them being pointless - some are for hunting, some are for home defense, some are for plinking - the constitution doesn't promise safety and there's precedent supporting that public servants aren't obligated to protect their constituents. You are responsible for your own life, forever and always - regardless of law.

>Get a good baseball bat or an axe. If yuo are super-duper paranoid, get multiples hidden around your house. One in the bathroom, on at the door, one under the bed.... still cheaper and safer and easier to upkeep than a gun
None of it is as efficient nor effective as a proper firearm

>>1133181
>plus no one will get shot "by accident" through bathroom stalls by people in the paralympics.
Oddly specific. Not every inch of the world is a major metropolitan area. Guns are completely necessary for home defense, for stocking in case of famine, and for sport. Especially in America, shooting and gun ownership is an essential part of everyday life.
>>

Watch out guys, anon is predicting the future again!

The fact of the matter is gun ownership means security for those owning guns. President Obummer ordered that a study be conducted to show how dangerous gun ownership is and it backfired so spectacularly that unless you were paying attention and doing your own research the results were swept under the rug and never brought up in a public forum.
http://www.gunsandammo.com/politics/cdc-gun-research-backfires-on-obama/
https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/crime/item/15941-cdc-study-ordered-by-obama-contradicts-white-house-anti-gun-narrative

You hate guns, and that's OK anon. But to be so blinded by your hate that you develop delusions of grandeur and a voice of oppression is intolerance in it's most primitive form. You ought to have a mental health check done before you develop and ulcer.

Quite a retort there.

Home invasions and famine have happened before - however I've never shot a friend or family member, have never been shot by a friend or family member, and according to the Obummer study cases of gunowners accidentally shooting innocent bystanders are few and far between and are even on the decline. I was citing history, you were gazing into your crystal ball. Your fear of this incident occurring should also prevent you from getting into a car since there are tens of thousands of deaths due to high-speed collisions every day.

Locks keep honest people honest. Anyone who wants to get in will get in. The difference is the amount of time required to get in. Your security should be so that the maximum amount of time is required for a breech. Extended time for getting past security means more time of possible discovery of the crime in progress. The longer that time is the less likely someone will try to get in. This length of time also allows you to prepare yourself and/or contact outside support should you be inside.

That means security + weapon + outside communications. Any lack of these 3 things can ensure your injury or demise.

The military has an m16 variant that shoots grappling hooks. They use it to share supplies between ships.

Pistols are often used to signal the start of a race.

At my highschool graduation a black-powder canon operator fired off blanks to celebrate the graduating class.

Some WW1 reenactors visited my middle school and fired blanks from their garands in order to help educate us for our history class.

Nailguns use .22 blanks to project nails.

That enough libtard?

>The military has an m16 variant that shoots grappling hooks. They use it to share supplies between ships.
Wrong, the grapnel attaches to the lower rail and launches a la grenade launcher.

That's like saying "I can duct tape a knife to a hammer and it gains knife ability"
>Pistols are often used to signal the start of a race.
Wrong. Starter pistols are cap guns
>At my highschool graduation a black-powder canon operator fired off blanks to celebrate the graduating class.
That is a ceremony that after many many iterations is originally related to the Saber bridge, it symbolizes willingness to fight for the person/union/whatever
So yes still killing, it is saying they will kill for you with that canon/21 gun salute/Saber bridge
>Some WW1 reenactors visited my middle school and fired blanks from their garands in order to help educate us for our history class.
Recreating killing, that isn't a use outside of killing, that is just rememberence of killing.
>Nailguns use .22 blanks to project nails.
A 22 blank is not a gun, nor are 22 nail guns
>That enough libtard?
I'm not a liberal, I'm just smart enough to realize that the nra has brainwashed idiots like you into doing their work for free

Pic related, faggot.

>Wrong. Starter pistols are cap guns
I'm sorry, cap /whats/?

>So yes still killing, it is saying they will kill for you with that canon/21 gun salute/Saber bridge
That's a big fucking stretch - nobody died by the canon blast. To say it symbolizes killing may be true, but the purpose of the canon at the ceremony is not to kill, therefore it's purpose is not killing.

>Recreating killing
Wrong again, faggot. They had us stand behind a shooter who fired the blank into the air so we could feel the shockwave. Nobody actually reenacted the war while they were giving a presentation at the school. And again, that gun didn't kill anyone and yet served it's purpose.

>A 22 blank is not a gun, nor are 22 nail guns
Nail /whats/? And the way the nail gun works is just like a gun - black powder in a cap propelling metal at a high speed. It's a firearm any way you slice it.

>I'm just smart enough to realize that the nra has brainwashed idiots like you into doing their work for free
More like dumb enough to be fooled into giving up your rights and militantly forcing your opinion on others.

Can you not read? That's the m14 CONCEPT it was never made, the m16 one is launched out of the grenade launcher. Pic fucking related
>I'm sorry, cap /whats/?
They are not projectiles, they are not guns, they do not shoot anything, they are called that because of their shape, not their use, they use a cap to make a loud bang, they cannot be used to shoot.
>That's a big fucking stretch - nobody died by the canon blast. To say it symbolizes killing may be true, but the purpose of the canon at the ceremony is not to kill, therefore it's purpose is not killing.
No stretch, it is a ceremony based on the interest of honor, humans are murderers by nature, therefore we find it honorable, is it any wonder why we use items only to kill at the center of this ceremony?
>Wrong again, faggot....
Again, it is so you know how it felt to be on the killing field, they used weapons to kill are showing you certain sensations of the killing.
>Nail /whats/? And the way the nail gun works is just like a gun - black powder in a cap propelling metal at a high speed. It's a firearm any way you slice it.
It's a shoehorned use. But I'll give this one to you. Nobody would use one on purpose, compressor nail guns are more useful and much more versatile. It's like one of those kitchen gadgets that you would never find in an actual kitchen but for some reason they are still made.
>More like dumb enough to be fooled into giving up your rights and militantly forcing your opinion on others.
What rights have I given up? I'm not deluded enough to think my nugget can fight back the US government. Nobody is claiming they want to take away our guns except for the NRA because they know they can trick retards into buying more guns. The only thing I want is for them to actually enforce the laws on the books already.

If it weren't for lax regulations, and the NRA gutting the ATF, Roof would never have killed those grandparents in my state.

He bought the guns from a gun shop. He was not legally allowed to own a gun, but the stripped ATF never was able to process his background check, since his background check timed out he was given the gun.
>>Implying a grenade launcher isn't a firearm
It isn't a gun, it's a mobile mortar

>It's like one of those kitchen gadgets that you would never find in an actual kitchen but for some reason they are still made.

They're extremely handy for driving nails into concrete. Far as I'm aware, there aren't any pneumatic guns that can manage that well.

I considered buying one for a job I just did. Much as I wanted to, I just didn't need to drive enough nails to justify the ~$50 it would have been for the gun, cartridges, and fasteners.
>>
>>1135067
Most framing nailers can, but really you should be using a masonry drill then epoxy set some masonry screws.

Again it's like one of those niche kitchen gadgets like the Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich makers.

These things are standard use for driving concrete nails and light anchors in many construction projects. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find a building going up where these aren't used.
The fact that you don't know this tells me you don't belong on /diy/.

>A grenade launcher is a weapon that fires a specially-designed large-caliber projectile, often with an explosive, smoke or gas warhead.
>Today, the term generally refers to a class of dedicated firearms firing unitary grenade cartridges.
>>
>>1135073
I have NEVER seen one of those in use on any construction site

If you need an anchor in concrete you set it in concrete or epoxy set it in a hole drilled into the concrete.

>>1135074
Again you are reaching. You're moving the goal post. Nowhere in your quote does it say gun. You changed your wording 2 posts ago to claiming it's a firearm instead of gun.

All guns are firearms, not all fire arms are guns.

And your dumbass is more likely to be shredded by another car going 75 in your lane than he is to shoot his family member.

But you get in a car, right? Do you weigh the cost/benefit ratio of using a motor vehicle? Yes? Well then that decision is no different them him having a gun.
>>
>>1135077
They're used for interior walls, for LIGHT duty anchors or nails. Usually for aluminum studs.

>You're moving the goal post.
>you're reaching
I'm following classical definitions.
Anything that uses an explosion or pressurized gas (there are other projection mediums too) to propel a projectile through a tube is considered a gun. A 'gun' is not a specific type of firearm, but a firearm is a specific type of gun.

The exception to this is missiles and rockets, because while the projectile may be propelled via gas or explosion, it also has it's own independent propulsion.
Technically speaking, an RPG-7 is a type of gun, but that's getting technical.

A grenade launcher is A.) a tube B.) designed to propel a projectile and C.) uses the expansion of gas in the form of an explosion to project the projectile.

Using classical definitions, a grenade launcher is a smooth-bore firearm-type gun designed to fire an explosive projectile.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun#Military
It's even listed as a type of gun here.

Also a gun's sole intention is to throw projectiles around.
