I'm doing a big renovation to my basement, and I've got a bar that's going to be a centerpiece, problem is I don't know what style to go with. Pic related is the current state of it, it's 10 feet long, with the bar surface it's 12 feet long.

I'm looking for style/design recommendations/ideas, preferably with a picture.

tl:dr
>Design my bar.

op, take a favourite piece of fiction, then model it after the fiction world, it will be million times more fun and unique than "just another bar".

Wish i had more ideas op. Maybe ill come up with shit later. Considering water cooled cup holders in mine. Just wraping walmart boat plastic cuo holders in copper tubing. Got an old car radiator to throw ina freezer. Run small pump and check for leaks. In theory i can get another board to run the freezer and set it to 28 degrees but i havent got that far.

Ambient lighting and a foot bar is aways a plus. Maybe even thin pad and vynil wrap a 2x4 for the arms.?

Digging that rock. Quarryfag here. Could look into doing this or fancy tike work if you are in to that.

Soeitestitch.com has a ton of old 8 bit characters if u wanna gobmortal combat theme or something. Kinda nerdy but meh. I'm kryloning mine...

So get pickup load of real rock?

Op can have kansas rock that looks shitty for $10 a pickup load.

3/4" to as big as he can haul. My overgrown skid loader can lift 8bton but anything over 6 gets scetchy af.

The fags up the road 20 miles got real pretty white rock. Up to u. Pickups suck dick to load anyway...

I like this.
Hard to find pictures of bars that are well lit.
>>
think very hard about converting to a full size fridge and adding a small sink.
microwave is not necessary for a bar.
liquor bottle and drinking glasses build up over time

Your tastes and activities are huge in this. So you need to tell us more, interests, hobbies, what you plan to do there ...

I myself would do something very simple and clean, admittedly a boring look, but I am more of a form follows function kind of guy. Bland top grade materials, probably steel and glass as others ideas could cost too much. Would build in some flexibility in case I get tired and want to remodel a few year later, doubt I would but I really plan ahead on things.

Now for the crazy ideas that popped in my head, please note more research is advised before actually building any of these.

I would think of novel ways to increase functionality. Like having the tap spout in the ceiling with an IR laser array detector, all over the sink of course.

You raise your glass and it pours you more. This would be an interesting conversion piece and would be one less thing taking up my courter top space. Added bonus is it helps keep the booze away from people too drunk to raise their glass correctly and short children who don't know the correct positioning to trigger it, as it wouldn't be a single trip line detector.

Cooling cup holders are a great idea,

Although you may want to think more on your design, there's likely a better way, something just sounds off to me. I think it is the "throw ina freezer" part, as that does work but is not designed for that kind of use.

Just throwing ideas out there, but I would look at Peltier cooling pads in the counter top. May not be as powerful, but as flat electrical parts they can be easier to incorporate into other designs, like the kind I am picturing.

Many of the happiest bar owners seem to be the ones who go nuts, with a theme that fits them.

I was a stand in project manager for a Redskins bar, we used paints to keep costs down while giving a more unique look. An autographed helmet was the center piece.

I personally am really attracted to 1920s style lately. So instead of posting a bar, i'm posting an atmosphere. Once you decide on what atmosphere you want the whole room to breathe, the design of your bar should follow quickly

>>
>>1127578
If u are local the guys charge about $75 plus wtf ever rock cost. I used to go 15 miles or so out and charge 100 if it was a ways back into pastures and shit or tell them fuckoff and let someone else do it. Driving long distances get expensive quick in a fucking 1987 detroit with and allison automatic.
>>
>>1127578
Thats a 10 wheeler too. 15 ton or so. Not sure wtf the big boys charge. 25 ton a load and $100 an hour each truck if u got a big project. Im saving money and trying to buy land for a truck stop reat area.

>muh vending machines.
>>
>>1127618
Lol. Was so confused until u explained the spout. Sounds cool but i hate keg beer. And if my bros dont like keystone light they can bring their own or get fucked. I know freezer will be stressed. IDGAF i got is for $160 at lowes and dont use it. RIP maybe. And i'll insulate all the lines and spray foam the cupholders. O considered peltiers but for some reason i have bad luck with those fuckers and it would cost a lot more than all the shit i already have. Am doing it for almost free since i had the idea for my boat and never did it.
>>
bar in my town has acid etched copper under clear epoxy that I like the look of.
>>
>>1129026

Love copper except that for a bar most people can't stand to see it actually used, which is why you see it lacquered or epoxied.

I'd think about using the "zinc" or pewter bar look like you see in French bistros all the time, and that doesn't need to be covered up with lacquer.

Jesus Christ if your beer is getting warm before you finish it, indoors, ur doin it wrong

a bar should be comfortable, durable, easy to clean, and pleasing to the eye. all this laser spout robodick freezer coozy bullshit is ridiculous.

now I think bars in houses are ridiculous anyways and antithetical to the purpose of a bar but that's besides the point

look at every bar from the dawn of time to recent history: does it have any of these ridiculous features? nah.

Well. You could talk shit or u could help me. Bro is a truck driver. Catches shady load on his way empty. Loads a flatbed semi and drives 300 miles towards home. Reciever isnt a real place and neither is shipper. Wasted his time hauling a load of old pallets. Says i can have. Borrow forklift for 50 bucks. I now have a litteral semi load of pallets. Bought a nail gun set for my house. Am dumb. 1 is staples. Blow 100 credit on boxes of staples. Incomming free pallet everything. Fuck yall
