Can a hair-curler be quickly turned into a soldering iron somehow?
maybe by removing the metal curling portion cover?
If possible, how can I turn a curling iron into a soldering gun/iron?

no, different temperature range

But can a soldering iron be turned into emergency hair curlers?
>>1126412
is there a resistor i can remove to increase temperature?
No, but you could make one from scratch from a 9V a pencil lead and some wire

dont jeopardize safety. thats nothing to fuck around with just go buy a $10 cheapo iron from walmart. shit

If you really want a bad soldering iron to fuck your shit up, you might manage, but some things are stupid to DIY.

I tried this with a USB power supply and it didnt work
the lead didnt even get hot enough. it smoked slightly at first (presumably some coating on the outside -- the thing i used still works) but wouldnt melt solder.

don't know whether a hair curler gets hot enough
the one in your pic looks also way too big and unwieldy to handle it comfortably
the best improvised soldering iron imo is a lighter heating up a paperclip/piece of wire (pic related)
it's super simple and works surprisingly well

You can do the good ol' lighter with copper coil trick
