Can you install a gas stove + oven in any room?

I already have another gas stove + oven in my kitchen.. would I need like.. to buy an extra propane.. container.. thing outside?

If I did, how much do those cost?

--Explanation--
My livestreaming studio is in my home basement, I do gaming content and cooking stuff too. I want to do way more cooking content, less gaming content.

what in the hell are you on about
>>
>>1125374
So there's a big gas container that sits outside, that the gas company fills every month.

I have zero clue what kind of gas it is, I assumed it was propane.

Would I need one more tank of gas outside to add another stove in my house?
>>
>>1125368
no, you need to kit the place out for ventilation, also exhaust hood that leads outside and in proper places e.g. not in the face of neighbours and at the top of the building etc, there are regulations for this

you cannot get it piped to anywhere you want, also because there are regulations about this sort of things

however if you use small scale table top portable gas stove, then it should not be a problem even in the basement

>big gas container that sits outside
you will need to add piping to a new stove, you dont need another tank, you will just use it up quicker
>>
>>1125376
I got that part

no, I highly doubt that would require a separate tank but you would need a separate gas line run to the basement by someone qualified

and you should definitely, if not required, have a vent going outside

don't /diy/, don't be a Buckley

fuck off

Not sure, if it goes similar to water then you need to make a T junktion from the main pipe (the one that come out of the tank), leave one line for the old connection and make the other for the new (with a valve for security), then that pipe goes where you want the kitchen inside and there connect it to the stove/oven/whatever you want.

Thing is that is with water, but i don't know how you could deal with pressure and if you fuck up then instead of mold you literaly burst in flames or just die from the leak, so in gas/propane things always is recommended to hire some specialist (and a real one, not LeTyrone that did a 3 months instruction in prison and you're his first costumer).

Okay to both

I have a window on the wall right above where I'd put this gas stove top + oven, so what would I need to.. buy to do ventilation?

>however if you use small scale table top portable gas stove, then it should not be a problem even in the basement

What is a small scale top.. I have no clue what that is

[and thanks for the input, advice, and help]
>>
I should probably clarify,
half the room is above ground and half the room is below ground level. If that matters to anyone
>>
>>1125384
Sounds like fun if you use LPG
>>
>>1125383
>what would I need to.. buy to do ventilation?
at minimum, a fan to put in/in front of the window

better would be a wall exhaust fan like http://www.homedepot.com/p/70-CFM-Through-the-Wall-Exhaust-Fan-Ventilator-512M/100662377

>What is a small scale top.. I have no clue what that is
anon probably meant like a camping stove www.amazon.com/Coleman-2000020943NP-Classic-Propane-Stove/dp/B00005OU9D

you would need small propane tanks or connector hose to fit 5 gal tank
>>
>>1125387
since you seem like you know what you're doing

do you have like a different way we could communicate if I have questions in the future?

like a throwaway email or something
>>
>>1125389
only in general....I've never worked with natural gas or liquid propane lines and never would unless I had the proper certifications, as so I do not explode myself and or am held responsible for burning down whatever structure I was working on

you're welcome to ask more here, it's only been an hour so far, and on /diy/ that's not very long....someone else might have more info

frankly it seems stupid to try to cook in a basement instead of just taking a camera or even a phone up to the existing stove in the kitchen

if you're still set on cooking in the basement, an electric cooktop would probably be that much easier...I have this one: www.amazon.com/IMUSA-GAU-80305-Electric-Single-Burner/dp/B005T0SN0K
it's worked decently well for making burgers, but I've always done it outside
>>
nice try fbi

also, electric stove is a good suggestion from the other anon, no need to fuck around with gas, just plug it in and it will work, no need for ventilation fucking around... unless you are cooking high heat and make a shit ton of smoke frying something
>>
>>1125368
>1125384
They even make you vent those blue flame gas heaters now. We camp all the time with a propane heater a 0 ventalation. Anons are right though. You need ventalation and a proper line so some retard doesnt mow over it and firebomb your house.

Im guessing you live in the middle of fuck nowhere and that tank is about a 500 gallon propane tank. If you cant be bothered to do it properly you can buy a kit to refill smaller propane grill tanks off of your larger one and hook it up but it wont last long.

Can you not just cook on electric? I know electric does suck dick but wouldbbe way easier.

I'll explain why it makes more sense to set up a kitchen area in my streaming room

1. Other people live here too
I stream at 7PM every day,
I can't say.. "Nobody use the kitchen from 7 to midnight, I'll be streaming here"

2. I do gaming content too, I stream on Twitch, a gaming-entertainment site, and to have both set up in the same area makes switching easier. I won't need to end the livestream, lose all my viewers, when I switch rooms.

I already do cooking stuff now, but some recipes like making chicken wings (just one example) require flipping every 10 minutes and my current set up is very limited.

This photo is 3 months old, but similar to what I still use now.

>>1125396
I just want to make this clear
if I use an electric stove + oven
I won't need ventilation?

The ventilation thing wouldn't be a big deal anyways though, I have a window I could use.

But I'm not sure if using electric would mean I don't need ventilation.
>>
>>1125402
>my current set up is very limited.
you could make a simple cart/island and put a double burner on top

www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN3cJgTlYTM

>if I use an electric stove + oven
>I won't need ventilation?
from a safety standpoint, no you shouldn't, but otherwise it could get rather smokey and leave unwanted fumes/residue

you would however be required to have a 220v outlet since electric stoves won't run on 120....it's not impossible to /diy/ but not recommended unless you have done electrical before
>>
>>1125414
the main use for this system would be the oven, not neccesarily the stove tops.

I am likely getting a gas one, they seem to be cheaper + better basically.

The ventilation system I'll ionstall should be easy there's a huge window right above this area

So I'll buy 2 fire eqtinguishers that's all the safety pre-cautions I should need right? Doing permits and crap seem like a lot of money.
>>
>>1125444
>So I'll buy 2 fire eqtinguishers that's all the safety pre-cautions I should need right?

Dying from poisoning has nothing to do with a fire extinguisher
>>
>>1125444

>I am likely getting a gas one, they seem to be cheaper + better basically.

Gas is useful for two things in an oven, a much better broiler and faster warm up. Warm up is almost inconsequential in my opinion, and a convection fan in an electric oven is also useful. So it's not like gas has all the advantages.
>>
>>1125466
The biggest advantage to gas is in the stovetop
You can finesse the burners to be exactly where you want it easily.

The lag time between heating up and cooling down the electric heating elements is a lot trickier.

As for baking, humidity is a factor for gas ovens. For some finicky stuff, you are better off with an electric oven because its not humid inside.
>>
>>1125478
Hence the dual fuel range concept on expensive high end ovens
>>
>>1125414
>>1125444
Don't forget the option of a large toaster oven. electric, runs on 120v, you don;t need ventilation.
ventilation is needed for gas because if not the gas can't get enough air and carbon monoxide poisoning. electrical needs no venting, but a lot of houses give them range hoods/vents because it's easier than having to scrub soot and oil/grease splashes off the ceiling.
also, stovetops can set fire to what's above them if you don't give them space
>>
>>1125368
you're gonna blow yourself up

easiest thing would be to tee off you gas line in the house

if your plumbing is copper use flare connections made for gas, if you decide to solder instead use silver solder so it wont melt in a house fire. if your plumbing is black iron use pipe dope on threads.

turn the tank off first before you do it

when finished and trying to light the stove you will have to be patient for the air to get out of the new line you added

and stoves dont need ventilation

Pls go away mr.meth man
