I have tons of wood and a Home Depot nearby. I need a bandsaw for word working but my apartment isn't big enough for a stationary one. Any tips?
rent a garage or studio to do it in or find a different thing to do at home.

im sure your neighbours will love you using power tools in your tiny filling cabinet apartment complex.
what exactly do you want to do? you dont need a band saw. you can use a circular saw, jigsaw or scroll saw or a coping saw for anything a bandsaw can do. a bandsaw is just great for how fast it is. but since you live in an apartment, i dont think you'll be pumping out commercial quantities of large furniture.

Portable bandsaw.
Clamp to table.
Hope it doesnt come loose and cut the shit out of you.
If it does get a finger cut off, sac up and get another.
2 fingers at 1st knuckle is disability.
Spend $800 a month on more woodworking projects ina file cabinet

You can't make curved cuts in thick stock with any of those except the coping saw. And I don't even want to think about how long it would take to make cuts in 4" stock with a coping saw.
None of them are very good at resawing, either.
That being said, I admit these two use cases are somewhat limited.

Go the portable band saw route. Some like Milwaukee even sell actual stands so their portable band saws can be used as stationary band saws. You can also alawys make your own stand for one, just look up homemade portable band saw stand on youtube for some examples.

For 140 dollars (cheaper if you use a coupon) and whatever scrap metal or wood you have can get a portable band saw and a table.

There is also always just buying a small bench top one. I've looked into building a DIY bandsaw before for a battlebots weapon and its a pain in the ass to build a reliable band saw and when all is said in done a custom built mini band saw will probably cost you more than whatever bench top piece of shit unit Harborfreight has.
1.buy a circular saw
2.buy a used scroll saw or bench band saw off CL
3.spend what you would have spent extra on blackjack and hookers
