What have you guys been working on?
I just built this little night stand out of some nice oak
My DVD cabinet, it opens up for a second shelving area.

Nice.
Did you build the shelfs and the nightstand as well
Couple of knives I've finished off recently
The cimeter was a bit of a pain in the arse an took about twice as long as it should have, like running out of sandpaper, buffing compounds and other stuff over the christmas period. Other than that it turns cows into steak pretty well

There where bits from the same block of steel and burl I had left over, they where 'odd' shapes in terms of the metal and timber, but it had to be use somewhere and off I went. Biggest annoyance was making the brushes to do the engine-turning on the bolsters and blades themselves, that took a bit of experimenting to figure out what would work well.
(Whole heap of 0.5mm stainless wire stuffed into an old dremel mandrel, lots of diamond lapping polish and a drill press)
Then I stabbed the fucking shit out of myself about 2-3 times putting the final bevel and sharpening them, so either I'm clumsy or they're extremely sharp... probably a mix of both. Aside from that they're actually quite handy for marking timber, carving, could probably do duty as a paring knife fairly well and really damn good for boning chickens.

Building a dining table. Everything done except for the trestle, one of the aprons needs router work, and the top.

Side view, dry fit, pre router work
Bought the shithole next door.
Like a 14 by 30 foot office building.
Floor to ceiling shelves and goofy shit on the walls like shenanigans.
Making a man cave lads.
Also planning my spring time project.
"Dunanana a a ananana boat car. Duna boatcar" stolen pic kinda related.
Will be sure and post. And telling bro out of state to update if i am drown.
With pics.
I am dedicate diy.
Aint no punk bitch...

No. They are temporary items till I can build replacements. I'm a bit busy with projects for people. I just finished this one today.
With the lights on.
Put together a pi-cart. Build quality is less than stellar (I used hot glue to secure everything in place) and snapped off some of the support posts/middle screwpost to make room for the cables. Time was pressing and I didn't trust my soldering skills enough to be able to make it quickly. Project was a request from a friend for his wife's birthday.

How to join 4 planks together into a table top and then make pretty.
I have glue clamps random orbit sander and a shItty harbor freight hand planer
>>1124661
Ignore the dust. Has been cleaned since.
>>1124659
fill that with some black potting compound and it will look nice.
>>1124665
I suppose I could place a form of sorts behind the exposed components, but I'd like to have the ability to get it apart in the case of a corrupted SD card (without having to chio away at something first). I have no experience with potting compound. What's it like to remove?

Also, there's no heatsink on the chips and I would be wary of heat dissipation, were I to fill the entire unit. I think making myself a faceplate would probably be a better option.
I've been working on a light gun controlled drum sequencer for a contest. The goal is to replace the dozens of potentiometers those things usually have with dots that can be moved around the screen using the gun.

It's pretty neat, but why a light gun? Software controlled would be much easier to use, while having much finer tuning capability. Is it just a whacky EE contest?

This is the contest:
moogmusic.com/news/5th-annual-moog-circuit-bending-challenge
It wouldn't really be in the spirit of the contest to throw a touch panel on an RPi and run a python script. I do that kind of thing for a day job and wanted to challenge myself to not use any microcontrollers. There's also a different feel to analog video circuits because of the instantaneous response time; if you've ever used an old pong console you know what I mean.

>while having much finer tuning capability.
The positions of the dots are generated and stored with analog circuitry. The tuning is inherently finer than what could be coming out of a software controlled DAC.
