Any tips on getting motors for cheap?
Doesn't matter what kind; just post good ways to buy/scavenge motors.

If you want brushless motors look at racerstar on banggood. If you want brushed try kids toys

Stake out behind restaurants. They throw out the very expensive equipment sometimes because a board is bad, or a refrigerator leaked.
Mostly fan motors, but I've found quite a few dishwashers, tables, and bar equipment is a big one. They usually swap the small stuff out themselves.

repair/automotive shop estate/auction sales
usually easy to fix the 'broken' ones, so those are free/cheap

Shop power tools, like table saws. They often have 3/4 and 1 HP motors. Sometimes more. They are generally about 3450 RPM and 110v (here in the States at least). I've seen people selling old 'junk' table saws for $25-$50 when the motor in them is worth that much at least. Especially if it's a rusted up piece of shit, like an 80s Craftsman/Powr-Kraft. You can get it super cheap, salvage the motor and scrap everything else for a buck or too.
Don't do that with really old tools, though. You can often sell them on OWWM.org for a profit. Or use them yourself. You can't buy for under $2k a tool as well build as a 1960's or earlier quality tool you can get used for $100.

2nd this. Bout a table saw for 20 bucks. Sat on it for 2 years. Gave it to buddy. He made a blower motor for his forge.
