Hey, not sure if this is the right board for this but maybe someone out there knows.
Basically I bought the hat in the picture. Looks great here, perfect color, except IRL it's much, much lighter. A very light brown, actually, which is great and all if all my other leather products (jacket, boots) weren't dark brown.
Question is, how can I intentionally darken the hat? It is a top-grain leather, very smooth on the top. Either suede or nubuck. Any help is appreciated.

Pour coffee on it.

Good 1. Any real suggestions?

Found this - they say shoe polish works if you use a creme polish and follow up with wax polish but the method is intended for boots so I don't know if it would suit your needs.

Do not do this. Poster is a moron.
Get Fiebing's Suede Dye (comes in 21 colors).

Just make sure you let it dry for a bit.

Old English scratch cover for dark woods. I've used it to dye rifle slings dark brown. Test it on a scrap of leather first to see if it's what you want.
