So I just got this sander for myself to sand this snowboard for art projects. I've been at it for about an hour on 60 grit and the design won't come off. The clear glossy layer has been removed though. What should I do?
It must be under there somewhere anon, you should just keep sanding.

should have used wire wheel
Have you tried a pressure washer?

wot you planning doing with it, anon?
you got the clear coat/varnish off, could just paint it, maybe easier. I doubt its ye olde oak grain or someshit underneath, dunno where you trying to get to from here. But, by hand? its gonna get old, quick.
OP here. I'm gonna use it in conjunction with a gaming youtube channel I want to do where I play snowboarding games and recreate the in game designs to the real thing. This is only an art piece and not for riding. It seems like its a metal core more than wood. I'll post some in depth pics of the snowboard to see. Pic related is my sander. I tested a skateboard on it earlier before the snowboard.

Go buy some trisodium phosphate for like 3 bucks. You should get the first few layers easily with that. Read package but basically apply, let stand, wipe off / sand / repeat. You could try a heat gun first if you have one.
Might be a vinyl laminate. Try a heat gun to it.
If it is for decoration only just paint it. Assuming you are an awesome painter. You could also do a vinyl wrap type decal and not have to rely on you talent as a painter to look good. Hell if it is for shitty video game playing background you could probably print out the design on gloss paper and glue it.
