Hey there /diy/nosaurs. I want to make an automatic book scanner in order to update my digital library with my hard-copy books. I've made a book scanner in the past but it was very crude and time-consuming to use. Does anyone have any build plans for an automatic scanner? Or how about just ideas to turn my crude scanner into an auto-scanner?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Die cut the bind of the book and run it through a regular b/w copy scanner like lazy people do.
the internet archive (archive.org) sell a ready made machine, and also describe how to DIY it.

This, I digitize for my state library, unbinding and using a sheet feed scanner is your best bet. Unless you want to make some robot that flips pages and takes pictures
