lol at transformer and DC, your going to have to convert the DC from the battery into AC to be able to use a transformer.

you could just step up the voltage off that battery with some simple circuits and trickle charge some massive capacitors, then dump it into the laser. then again why bother with some shit quality laser in the first place.

ruby lasers are easy to make, just require a ruby, chamber, and polarized lenses so the light emitted from the ruby when electricity is passed through it actually lase. cooling it can be difficult, but you can let it cool on its own for a bit between shots. this is high school level science fair stuff. it can burn through a razor blade, just imagine what it would do to flesh.

inb4 electricity only passes through conductive materials, with enough ass behind it electricity will pass through anything, ans the reaction can always pass around it.

Don't forget to wear protective glasses that are in the same light range as the laser. Even if you don't point it at your eyes you can still be blinded when it reflects or diffracts. 1watt isn't something to fuck around with.

Seriously ask yourself what you need this for

If it's for burning shit like some stupid clickbait YouTube video, you will get bored very quickly and you'll also be endangering yourself for like 5 minutes of lulz

If it's for experimenting, you would do much better with a lower power system in a non handheld form factor

Also if you have no experience with lasers or any idea what a laser actually is you should abandon this idea. If you cannot explain why 1 watt of 405 nm light is coming out of a hole you should not be turning it on
