Hello /diy/ first time on this board.

Now someone in my house and put this chip in my granite and to my surprise no one knows who did it.

What would be the best way to repair it without calling someone in?

Thanks

Clear epoxy should work and be fairly discreet.

look around see if you can find the chip. repairs usually look better the less filler you use

Clear two part epoxy. Put it on with a razor blade a little higher than the edge, to take it down the normie way would be to hold a razor blade vertical and carefully scrape the dried epoxy off little by little but if you want to be professional then use sandpaper starting at 120 up to 1000

Universal parent code for "everyone denies having done it, and I cannot directly prove who did it, so I will just buy them all slightly shittier Christmas presents."

This is exactly why I installed 16 gauge stainless steel on my countertops.

I work in a furniture store. Our basic warranty doesn't even cover minor chipping on stone edges anymore: too many people are incapable of taking care of their property and won't fess up when they're responsible for breaking it.

If you want to fix it cheaply you can use an epoxy by constructing a mold on the damage and filling in the gouge. I'd use a clear epoxy if that's the route you choose. You can also get epoxies that resemble natural stone, or mix them. You'll then need to shape the set epoxy by sanding, cutting, and/or buffing it -- look up how your chosen epoxy mix sets before you break or scratch it to hell. You'll have to google around for a specific method that will work for you. We do this at the store to fix tiled stuff and the handful or marble tables we have. It works reasonably well, but it can't do miracles.
