Sup /diy/. Ive got one of these little faggot scooters. It runs nice but I wanna make it even cooler. I'm thinking that if I follow one of those guides for a homemade tin can jet engine I can modify that and use it is a turbocharger. Anyone done anything with homemade turbos ?
>>
>>1094939
Electric or die anon.

Jump ona brushless lithium 1 if u want.
>>
>>1094939
>tin can jet engine I can modify that and use it is a turbocharger
Lol
You need to compress the air not just move it. Just get a 5 horse and strap it to the ass end.
>>
>>1095010
No you tard I meant use that as the air compressor, point exhaust towards one blade, get air compression on other side.
>>
>>1094939
Not nearly enough compression
>>
Just make some fake jet engines that shoot a little flame out the back. that would look pretty cool
>>
>>1094939
nigger thats not how turbos work
>>
>>1095041
You'd probably be better off either running a small electric motor off the engine. Or run a pulley either off the tire or off a wheel touching the tire and/or ground.
>>
Just make a system that can inject NO2 in your engine directly. Totally safe.

Or be a pussy and add an electric motor.

tear that motor off it and put a bigger chainsaw motor on it. plus parts would probably be easier to find.
>>
>>1094939
LS swap it.
>>
>>1096147
kek, or dorito swap

i take it it's a 2 stroke?

firstly find out if theres a kit to upgrade the cubic capacity, if there is fit it.
it'll probably only be single ported, find out if you can machine it to 3,4 or 5 port.
reed valves make a difference too.
see if you can lighten the flywheel
now you'll need to either upjet the carb or change the carb completely
and lastly you'll want an exhaust pipe with some form of expansion chamber.

i've done all of the above to my "faggoty" scooter, it's now pushing 19.7hp which is more than enough on a machine weighing less than 75kilos on 10 inch wheels with only drum brakes for stopping

pic related, the engine for my "faggoty" scooter

You should put that back on the chainsaw it came from. It would be fucking awesome.
>>
>>1096513
Just imagine a 20 horsepower chainsaw; it would be amazing.

Tits almighty anon. Good work. Hardly anyone knows this shit and China keeps pumping junk out too fast to keep up with mods. I drive a big block Chevy pickup that's over 30 years old as a daily. Still prefer electric for smaller shit tho. That evoke I had was like a fucking motorcycle. Mfw I pass people on main street on 1 Tire ona bike.

this is what it came out of, an Italian shopping trolley.
the frame is from 1984, but the engine itself is from 1963.way back in '63 40mph was viewed as more than fast enough to get an Italian housewife to the shops/cafe and back.

so, i started with a 40 mph 1963 GL150cc engine

>added a Malossi 166cc cylinder,head and piston
>up-poreted fron single induction to quint induction with reed valves
>polished and drilled con rod
>polished and drilled crank
>lightened flywheel from around 190g to about 75g,

unfortunately this make gear changes violent as fuck, each time i let off the throttle its like slaming on a brake in the engine

>ignition up graded to full electronic Ducati module(not in pic above)
>heavy duty HT lead
>T-spark sparkplug (can't recall product code)

fuel system
>upgraded from standard 20/20 carb to 32/28 and upjetted from 96 to 118
>fast flow fuel tap and filter
>long range tank fitted

ehaust
>ehaust port machined 10mm wider to accept 200cc engine mounts
>Simonini racing exhaust fitted(originally for a 200cc machine)

paint
>red primer
>high reflect metallic siler base coat
>stencilled 3 headed dragon in self mixed deep blood red(from left overs)
>red candy top coat
>shit loads of lacquer(clear coat)

everything else is pretty standard, including the brakes.

dyno'd as i said at 19.7hp which should see it up to past 80mph.

it's just about finished now and should be on the road before Christmas if i can organise the free time

>80mph on a scooter
wew
>>
>>1096949
no disc brakes
only drum brakes
engine is all on one side
left hand bends are wobbly at best
ten inch wheels
they don't like pot holes much
steering column, not forks
steering column was origially leg and wheel from retractable landing gear on Piaggio aircraft, engine is 1/7 of a radial engine originally made as a starter unit for the 7 cylinder blocks.

anyone can do 80 on a Harley, it takes a complete nutjob to do it on a Vespa.
>>
>>1095041
You think that thing moves enough air to do that? You're joking, right? There is very little pressure to turn anything.
>>
Take the motor off then wrap a string around the axle, when you pull the string some shit is gonna happen
