You can save your ass a lot of time and just carry a metal stick with a ball at the end and forget the whole paracord step entirely.

A well-sized of Spring steel is the best. I make knives out of old car leaf springs, so I had it around. Using super hard steel like a bolt isn't nearly as good but it's fine too if it's all you got.
Bearing balls are the legit head for the modern day, but I used a cast little biscuit of lead.

This is definitely lethal OP, no different than brass knuckles. Less lethal than a gun but it's still a hard heavy thing that will fuck up someone's day. The thing to realize is that if you're using it, it's because your life is in danger and anything that happens to the other fucker is justified.
