I have a clear one. No difference really. Buy bigger than what you think you need. Also if it gets curled from shipping I found if you set em on something flat like plywood and stick in the sun(a hot car works amazing well) they'll lay back down on their own.

I have a medium sized Alvin and a large sized Fiskars.

Theyre both fine, and will bounce back from shipping fine. If needed, a little boiling water will soften them up a little and you can unfold them or whatever.

Also make sure your work surface is completely flat and will "grab" the mat so it doesn't slide around. You can use carpet stays or anti-slip drawer liner to really make sure it doesn't go anywhere.

Have a small/medium-sized clear one and a large green one. Great things, they do bounce back. Ditto on order bigger than you think.

Bought the clear one to look slicker on a nicer desk, end up using the green one more often because size. Don't be me. Get a big one.

If you have a nice desk and want it to still come through, get clear. But maybe it would be easier to see components on green or black.

Green and black probably also wear better over time.
