>not using waste oil to cast 25+ year old ant hills.

I'may not buying a 4bajillion watt heating element for huge pours in a shitty plaster foundry bro.

>Pic is new forge shell. The roof actually. It will be split in half and butted together. It will make sense in a bit. I found an unconventional design I like.

The fuck am I gonna get coal in Kansas? Lol. Have pretty much unlimited waste oil and can possibly get coke by the truckload but propane is master race. And I am hoping to get a flow meter and tap a gas well.

Like in the video here I'm building a floor and a lid. Then using my winch I can pick up the lid and stack fire brick walls as high as I like. Most of the time it will be for knives and such. But I have plans for a few makeshift anvils that I would like to harden.

Kind of a long winded vidya. BUT I like the design. https://youtu.be/xah47JDQKP8

Nice work anon! Several old timers around here into it. I wanna step up out of nowhere and start forging makeshift anvils for gifts. Make battle axes and maces and shit when normis are making shitty knives.

Nothe trying to be the king bit I wanna shock the doubters. Also maybe start a club and build a shop.

Thanks!
How big of a fire do you have going to make freaking anvils?!?!?!

Well i'm not making anvils in the true sense. Just forging cubes. There is a vidya here of about 5 guys using a giant hammer and gangbanging on one.

https://youtu.be/1WB26KZuuJ8

I figured I can use natural gas and 3-6 if reil's burners and a full loader bucket to beat on it. Weld a few bars so I can turn it by hand. I'm a pretty big guy and don't have a lot of trouble swinging a 30 pound sledge for a short period of time. And it will probably look a little rough until I grind on it some. But it's relatively little work for a forged anvil.

I'm guessing normal temps for hammers and such are needed. Just for an extended period? I know a few guys with large trailer mounted propane tanks. I can probably borrow one and refill it to do a test run.

I'may not so much going for high dollar quality stuff here as making giant battle axes and shit that don't roll the edge over after 1 swing.

Purely for a hobby short of selling to pay for itself.

I have some other artists that are painters, welders, and leatherworkers so we should all be able to compliment each other well.

Makes an excuse for a short hour or 2 drive to visit friends and hopefully cover fuel and dinner.

I've seen some nice looking decorative painted weapons and been toying with the idea of making a large pressure pot for wood/epoxy gun stocks and various handles. My buddy here is an award winning painter if anyone wants to pay double price for a yeti cup or pimp our an rtic. Lol. Not shilling. I don't give af. Bit he is good.
