Hi /diy/, my girl asked me if I could make her a fake parang for tomorrow (zombiewalk in buenos aires) so she could go as Maggie from TWD, and this is what I've come up with.
It's #16 steel sheet and some scrap wood. I ran out of black paint so I blued it with burned motor oil and and oxy.propane torch, then I sanded the edges to create a fake edge.

This is the one from the show, I don't watch TWD, but from what I saw on google images, it came out pretty close to the original. The handle I couldn't make it better with this time frame and without paint.

Looks nice Op. I would fold the edge over though if I were you just so there are no accidental slices as even sheet metal can give some nasty cuts
