I like working with onxy because you can do unique things like this, I find it really cool for stone personally
>>
>>1089630
Really? Can't beat that, I'm a slow woodworker lol
>>
>>1089632
I just made cut and measured two pieces and used them as templets. It saved a lot of time cutting the brick pattern

Tile work and kitchen remodel are my next big projects.

Not sure if I want to stretch the tile out further, or keep that 45° where it is.

you should tile all the way to the door, stoppages never end up looking good

The tile's going where hte carpet currently is, between the door and the painter's tape on the carpet.
Door swing, and where my boots are now will all be tile.

What i'm debating is whether to keep the 45° jog where it is with that "tail" where my boots are now, or extend the tile area further out.

Also, is this any good? I'm not a "pro", by any means, but I think this $250 saw is worth the price vs. renting for the several jobs I want to do in this house (entryway, kitchen floor, kitchen surround over sink/stove, and bathroom tub surround). Reviews are fairly positive.

Ahhh I see what you're saying now. If you have the tile you're going to use lay it out first. Find the center of the door and start a tile on either side of the center line or right in the middle. That's all personal preference and which ever gives you less cuts/waste. It'll also give you an idea as to what that 45 will look like, you might like a tile cut corner to corner or maybe just cutting off smaller corners.
As for the saw I've used harbor freight saws in the past and they're perfect for diy, the only thing is id pick up a different blade because those usually wear quickly and can cause chipping on the surface of the tile especially if you're using porcelain or ceramic

The Dr Strangelove "war room" inspired room on the third floor. About to finish the flooring. Does anyone know where to find projector screen fabric on rolls by yard/meter? Looking at about 60 meters of screen by 2.5 meters.

Not really a current project, but my last project. Starting a new one tomorrow. Plan is to put it in a box/door frame/something or other.

Marquetry. A bit like inlay but you cut thin pieces of veneer with a saw/knife tape them together then apply it to a substrate with a press.

Wife stole the office upstairs, or at least cluttered it with her craft/sewing equipment that I needed my own space. Built me a desk/work bench downstairs. Just gotta mount my drill press and I'll be done.

>plack

what the hell is a plack? do you mean PLAQUE?
>>
Building a fold-up work bench in my tiny garage at my new house later today. Might post some pictures if I remember to take any but it's not that impressive anyway.

>>1089987
Holy shet! Is that just a pressurized water line? Such an odd place for a leak.

Like I said, nothing special, folds up flat to save space. Probably stain and varnish it eventually.
>>
>>1090638

Shit son. What's up with that foundation
>>
>>1090640
House was built in 1908, this is the detached one-car garage built probably in the 30's. Not really worth my time and money to fix the concrete haha
>>
>>1090638
You might also want to get that water damage and rot looked at.
>>
>>1090644
I only plan to be in this house for 3-4 more years, so like I said, not really worth the time and money to fix anything in this garage. It will be standing long after I'm gone.
>>
>>1090647

That's a good attitude to have. "Eh, if I can put it off on someone else, I will." You'd be a perfect candidate for any service industry job.
>>
>>1090650
This garage is a complete tear- down job, that would be putting too much money in this house that I wouldn't be able to recoup when I go to sell it. Honestly just doesn't make financial sense in my situation.
>>
>>1090652

Nigger they literally sell a Quikrete mix for concrete cracks. Assuming you've identified the the source and are confident it's stopped, it's about $30 in material and a days labor.

And besides, if it's your house, you want to fix those items anyways because those are the type of violations that disqualify a buyer with an FHA loan from purchasing a home.

>Blah blah blah I won't sell to an FHA buyer!

You'll fucking sell to the first person who wants to pay your asking price with addenduma you're fine with.

Stop being a lazy cunt and repair them.

Literally not worth it

Lel no

>not worth $30 and a day drinking beer working with your hands

Probably explains why you're alright with installing bench top with a fucking bow already in it.

Carry on.
>>
>>1090667
If I had nothing else to do in life but fix that garage I would. it's just not really a priority for me right now, sorry that makes you so angry friendo.
>>
>>1090676

But you have enough time to talk about and show your crappy DIY projects. Makes sense. You do you.

Why spend 50k fixing shit for someone else? I live in a fucking Crack house with a leak in the roof and a gutted bathroom. Ima bounce in spring and sell this bitch
>>
>>1090664
Way to not flex op. Fuck these tryhards. I work overtime everywhere and this place was a litter all crackhouse. I have seen Crack done here before I bought it.
