Hey DIY, /an/imal here, I'm trying to find a cheap way to laminate a picture to use as a background for my mudskipper aquarium. I'd like to make a custom background, but most paper can easily get damaged being wet(obvious, but I need to explain because of habit being with a bunch of retards). So I'd like to laminate a picture/colored paper that suits well with the tank without needing to buy a $200 laminator. Can I just find some kind of plastic sheets, sandwich it with desired paper, then use an iron to heat seal it?
Pic related, is my mudskipper tank.

Okay. Maybe try ask a printing shop? Any good paper with a laser printer will last with water.
Or build a live action LCD screen behind the tank and give him a live background.

you can just by lamination film and seal it with a regular clothes iron. Office supply stores sell rolls for $25.

Go to a print shop. It might end up cheaper and better done since they have giant 64" laminators. It will be difficult to get good results if it's a large print.

ask at office depot if they do laminating, staples does and oface max does. a couple years ago i made a copy of my lathes feed plates and had them enlarged and laminated at staples, was $8 total
