Hey I found this thing in my grandfather's old masonry bag. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it's supposed to be used for?

Breaking out of federal penitentiary. Don't forget a clean pair of shoes

It's a straight peen hammer. It's for splitting bricks and other similar tasks most likely. I used one for rock work when I was in the California Conservation Corps. Blacksmiths and metalworkers also use similar hammers for their duties. Looks like a slightly heavy one. 2-4 pound head on it?

Fucking kekked.

Yep, its a hammer.
Blacksmith's hot cut. Looks too narrow and sharp to be a brick hammer. A blacksmith holds it on a piece of steel and a second person hits it with a hammer to cut through. They're more for making straight lines or complex cuts that you couldn't do with a hot cut that sits in the anvil.

Is a hammer.
Used for hammering things.
Pegs, nails, your mom etc... lol. Sorry m8. No clue
Op here,
Yeah I thot it looked like a smithing hammer but it was in this 100 year old bag that was shaped like a bowling ball bag with all these masonry tools like trows sanding blocks from the 40s and other shit I can't remember. I actually sharpened the wedge slightly with a flat hand file to remove the dents from its edge. Its so oxidized I can't find a maker's Mark anywhere either.
