Hi lads,
Im in big stump, i have to come up with a new idea and implement it in 4 months using this RF receiver.
We had a year to do so but my professor shot us down and he insist on us using this RF receiver.
My question is what kind devices transmit radiowaves and what can i pick up other than fm radio, airplanes?
What do i do with this? Its sriving me insane!!
Literally anything you can think of uses some kind of RF.
GPS, Radar, Mobile Phones, Wifi, spark plugs, light switches. if you can think it it produces RF or at least leaks it.
I don't really want to do your homework tho. So >>>/out/

I know that but this only detects up to 1.7GHz,l. I get it nypa but i really am hitting a wall with this.
Originally we wanted to do something with planes, but it was too simple and theres a lot of apps for it.
Then we decided to move on to transmitter but it was too expensive buying a transmitter.

You might recreate project TEMPEST. There really isn't that much public domain software about it. i.e. capturing keystrokes and cpu activity via RF.

give up you can't do anything with this

It receives from 25MHz - 1750MHz which is a large range, shame it only has a slither of HF though.
I'd recommend buying an amateur radio book for beginners, that'll teach you the basics.

I'm building a front end to receive weather satellite images at 137.5 MHz. With the same dongle actually.
