That doesn't really work though.
Any capacitor/coil combination becomes self limiting thus limiting the usefulness of it being an EMP emitter. The capacitor is going to present an internal resistance to the coil, which will show a field setup time or rise time due to the nature of an electromagnetic coil. The pulse itself would occur once the current is removed, but in this case it would oscillate back to the capacitor.
