Tesla's latest products are glass tiles that contain solar panels. They look like normal roofing tiles from ground level, but from the sun's perspective they are transparent glass.
Idea being you use them as normal roofing tiles. Then combined with a battery pack. you power your house at night. Whole thing to cost less than a new roof plus decades of electricity.
My solar road detector is going off.

Thank you for that verbatim regurgitation of the presentation.
When I see some concrete figures regarding cost, yield and lifetime, then I'll get excited.
didn't watch the presentations - unless they are less fiddly than regular panels to install or maintain, how are they different from regular panels except aesthetics?

Amen, brother

Because retarded municipal governments homeowners association busybodies won't say anything about them.

> Whole thing to cost less than a new roof plus decades of electricity.
That's pure bullshit.
Also half of the tiles won't even work unless you design house around the idea. I'll stick with normal solar panels.

and the price per square foot is???
>Whole thing to cost less than a new roof plus decades of electricity
My roof cost about $10k and my monthly power bill if around $500. Assuming decades = 2 decades that's $120k so $130k total. No doubt there's also some fairly expensive maintenance involved plus the battery which would have to be replaced every few years so you might as well just say $150k
doesnt seem at all worth it to me unless it's also going to generate enough power to provide a surplus I could sell and recover most of those costs. For that price I might as well just put up a small wind turbine

OP: you've got yourself a cognisant audience interested in listening your product pitch and you blew it
Isn't Solar City lease-only? Not sure what happens to your roof when the contract ends. Purchase at "Market Value", or do they come take the roof, or what?

Your fucking power bill is $500 a month?! Where do you live?

>Because retarded municipal governments homeowners association busybodies won't say anything about them.
Wait what, do you get some people complaining about solar panels in your country? Where is this, the US? It sounds absolutely ridiculous.

Old technology. Bankrupts nearly every company that tries it.
bitch I can't afford any kind of tile roof
