I've been checking out a lot of his stuff on traditional tools, which are very informative. However, he seems to be a bit of a wanker overall.

-He's a bit preachy.
-He talks too much about his life, instead of focusing on the tools. I get that this is what his channel is about (the homesteading life) but it's not what draws me to it.
-He'll praise a tool he likes in unqualified fashion, without mentioning upsides and downsides. Exceptions for the videos he explicitly makes as a review, though.

Overall, I've gotten a lot of good information out of his channel, especially about lumbering techniques, but I've got to take it with a large grain of salt. He's too fast to accept folk wisdom instead of testing things himself, but in spite of all that he's a damn fine expert on forestry techniques. Anything he posts with the word "axe" or "fire" in the title is probably quality.

Annoys the shit out of me and JewTube keeps recommending his garbage to me. He is fine when he's reviewing axes or making a handle for one. Otherwise, it's just fucking trash.

Twelve minutes of fucking useless bullshit before they even get to the thing they're supposed to show.
I'm not there because of their personality not do I care about their story.

Except for his clickbait titles he's ok, he does a lot of videoblogging compared to other channels, and not everyone likes that mixed with useful information because they have to sit through the whole thing to get to the important bits.

AvE is wearing thin. Each video is exactly the same. I have no idea how he manages to spend 30+ minutes to tell us that the gears are powdered metal, the nylon has glass fiber, and the brush holders are shitty.

I'm over it. He gets over $8,000 per month and shows very little for it.

Stefan Gotteswinter is also really informative and talented. He's also really funny, but in a German way.

His video's are painfully slow, and he talks all the time.

I like Frank Horwarth and John Heizs, but their voices are driving me nuts.
Horwarth has that raspy, dry mouth stoner voice and Heizs' voice is just weird.

Would like to hear Matthias talk in German, though.

I consider it more to he like some kind of asmr or other relaxation video. Not really great for actual education
