There is red wire and a black wire that goes in the socket. The other two red and black wires are not connected to the socket.

Remove cover from exhaust fan.
Locate wires going to motor.
Cut one or both wires.
Tape ends.
Replace cover.
Have a warm beer.

Don't even know where the bloody exhaust fan is. The light bulb frame is connected to a duct and the fan is somewhere behind.
