I'm building a home gym in a metal shed at the bottom of my garden.
My old wooden shed that's being torn down was invested with insects of all kinds over the years.
How do I stop insects from coming in and taking over my metal shed? I plan on using the shed daily, I don't want it invested with insects.
What's the likely situation here? What precautions can I take?

Make sure the metal is air tight, otherwise fine wire mesh on all vents and openings. And keep it clean.

How do I go about making sure it's air tight? With sealant?

With semen sealant

like mentioned... seal it with sealants and mesh on wents, place traps with glue or repelent
and you canot make it absolute airtight
just clen it regulery you hobo
You are going to need a much larger shed than your pic.
A typical shed floor will not survive the dropping of weights that it will be forced to endure.
Make sure you double or triple up on the plywood sheathing and it'll hold up.
