I have 2 old electronic organs like this
I been trying to sell them on Craigslist, letgo, and wallapop for 3 weeks with no success.

Is it better to strip them of there parts and sell them for scrap or just give them to Goodwill?
Open to other suggestions.
>>
Do they work?
>>
>>1050348

If they work restore the cosmetic damage and make an attempt to take a decent picture and actually market the damn thing

half the problem with craigslist fuckers is that they can even take a picture.

This is what I do with my record player business
>>
>>1050361
Literally this, don't be a tard and take shitty pics and use a shitty description. Act like a professional
>>
>>1050348
if it's a tube organ, make sure it says so in the ad. people love tubes man.
>>
>>1050386
>tube organ
LoL.
>>
Where are you OP? I saw a free one on Craigslist the other day that was working and everything. It looked exactly like yours. The owner just didn't want it

No experience with musical instruments but if you aren't near a big city then I doubt anyone wants it
>>
>>1050387
My thoughts exactly.

>The prophecy was true, DIY was swamped with morons
>>
>>1050387
>>1050396
Some vintage upright electric organs do run on tubes.
>>
>>1050397
Not in my house they aren't.

Ops organ is not a pipe organ. It's electric.

Electric, (possibly) using vacuum tubes.
Was it really not obvious enough?
>>
>>1050655
ill have to check tomorrow
I'm not sure if they have tubes or not
>>
>>1050653

fuckkkkkkk. if you lived anywhere near me i'd buy the shit out of an old tube organ that still works. i'm in ohio though and i'm sure as fuck not driving all the way to minneapolis. good luck though, man. like the previous guy said, the more detail you can add into your ad for it, the better response. use words that will appeal to fucking hipsters.
>>
>>1050348
We had one of those (simpler models) in our church for ˜20 years.

Ask around if there are churches near you that would need it and how much they would be willing to pay.

Organs, wheather electric or not are not exaclty party instruments.
>>
OP, that organ looks like shit.

Electric organs are worth fuck all unless they are a sought after model which basically mean Hammond B2 and a couple other models.

If you want to get rid of them, open it up, pull the tubes and sell them as a working set.

Collect your $40 and bring those to the dump.
>>
>>1050784
>Hammond B2

B2's are sought after but I suspect you meant B3, the most common well-known model.

Any Hammond tone wheel model (electro-mechanical machines, very heavy) is sought after - A/B series, L-and M-series plus a few others (e.g RT3).

Some non-Hammonds are okay. Brands like RMI and WLM are worth saving.
A number of home organs came with
builtin Leslie (rotating) speakers
which could be worth extracting and making into a standalone unit.

>>1050348
Dude stuff like this is absolute treasure to some people, they just don't check listings every day. Three weeks is a short time for a big item.

Check eBay for similar items, see if you can find a electronic organ enthusiast forum. They'll give you a proper price. I bet those world sell for $500 in SF. Hipsters love this shit.

Tube organ
>>
>>1050348
My grandma had one of these. A blast to play. That's what made me want to make music. Id never put that monstrosity in my house though.
>>
If it works, it can be used on some progressive rock vintage band.
>>
>>1050348
I'llvbuy that organ for $100 right now if you pay shipping.
>>
>>1050361
Good advice, anon.
10/10 would buy it.
>>
/mu/ here, transistor organs are basically worthless junk, if they work you can get maybe like 50 bucks for em.

If that's your organ, strip the parts out and burn it. The world needs less of these shitboxes, especially mpls area CL.

Only save room for Hammonds.

Pull any red tip tubes and junk the thing. Red tips are the very highest quality tubes you could get and were used in medical and military equipment.
>low noise
>no microphonics
>gain matched triodes
Those old organs apparently also needed these tubes to work properly. They're worth more than the organ.
>>
>>1052457

don't listen to this guy

Don't sell to audiophiles

Your demographic is late 20"s hipster women. They will spend money on any bullshit as long as it looks cute and stylish.

Say "literally" at least 2 times and mention how it was used by one of the first free black men. That'll sell it real fast and for big money

Really?

1. buy normal tubes
2. buy red nail polish
3. ???
4. PROFIT

If it's a Hammond and worth restoring, you're in luck.
Probably one of the most knowledgeable Hammond organ minds in the US lives in your backyard.

>>1055876
oh also that jalopy in OP's pic is not a Hammond, and even if it was it's a transistor organ and not a tonewheel, and pro shops like BB and Goff don't go near that stuff unless you're Thom Yorke and it has sentimental value
