I'm going to make some rings because I am bored and I have these bones that I want to use. I was thinking of cutting them into little cubes and gluing them together so that I could have more workable material (basically a laminate but with 1 x 1 x 1 cubes). Is this possible? I am mostly just an amateur tinkerer. I was also thinking of maybe cutting thin slivers of the bone and gluing it in with wood then making wood bone laminate rings.
Anon, don't turn your wife into jewelry.

I'm not. I bought my dogs new bones and took away the old ones.
I'm not even married.

Not anymore...

Never been married.
Just want to know how I can put these unconventional shapes into a more conventional for that makes for easy crafting.
Cutting/heating bone often stinks amazingly, in a way that sinks into everything around, and the dust is noxious.
So there is that.
Cutting the rings into arcs (maybe 3 per bone?) , then refining them into flat-faced rectangles could work. Then you cement or epoxy them together and clamp to create a block. Then you can turn the block and hollow it out into a cylinder, then rings. Layers of wood fit in could work, I suppose.

I know it can smell, bones brown and crack from the heat, dust can be bad already. Just trying to figure out how to take unconventional shapes and put them in a more uniform pattern so that I can then create a ring.
Tips or experiences greatly appreciated. What bonding agent would create the best bond? Gorilla glue?
