I intend to make a diy laptop from pc parts.
The parts i can afford.
Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2HP
GPU GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB DDR5 192-bit
CPU Core i5 6400 2.70GHz box
16gb ram
HDD 500gb 7200rpm - generic
A very low profile keyprofile that can fit the suitcase.
For a display i'm gonna buy an LCD display from ebay that fits and a LCD connection kit from ebay.

How do i attach laptop batteries to it?

You need to connect the + to the motherboard and the - to the cpu, you need adaptors for this but you can just tape down with electric tape

lel

I was also thinking to just put in a power source and have a in-room mobile desktop. I hate sitting at a desk, i wanna stay in bed and play.

What do you think?
>>
>>1043920
you can just get a power extension cord
>>
The laptop battery will run it for a couple minutes if you're lucky. You could get one of those big lithium batteries that's car battery sized but they're fucking expensive. Probably best off only using it on mains.

yes, but no mobility. For example if i wanna look like an autist and take my laptop to a cafe one morning i have to take out my 20foot extension cable and plug it in their wall.

>>1043924
I think i'm gonna go for the power source and normal cable.
I needed to write this down to see my plan. Is it doable? I mean, i only need a pcie to pcie extension cord, normal pc cables and something to glue/screw the stuff in. Any tips?

I feel so nostalgic.

Just put one of those retracting power cables from a Hoover into it. Bonus points if you keep the foot press thing too
>>
This plan is pretty dumb. What tools do you own? How do you plan on making the case? Have you even made something like this at all? Could you do something else with your time to earn the $600 or so extra to just buy a laptop with those specs?
>>
for what it costs to buy all that shit and assemble it, instal software.. you can buy a laptop. you know. one that is already a laptop. and not a full size computer crammed into a briefcase?

man.. where do people come up with this shit
>>
that's dumb as shit
>ATX motherboard
you fucked up
>6gb video card
>7200rpm hdd
also dumb as shit

OP, this is stupid and I'm going to tell you why this is stupid:
Desktop parts aren't power efficient.

Drop your list. It's fucking dumb. That's a 350W ``laptop".

Go to ebay. Pick up a laptop motherboard. It probably has the CPU and dGPU already soldered on.
Pick up a ThinkPad keyboard, because those are easy to connect to your computer.
Get any laptop display. Prefer ones with eDP connectors. Ignore anything with touch screens, those are too advanced for you.
If your laptop motherboard and display use different connectors (LVDS vs eDP), get a converter board.
It will come in DP or HDMI. Use whichever you need to connect to your laptop.

Everything else is up to your machining ability, but considering you're such a poorfag that you need to list out what desktop parts you need to use, then give up now because you can't fucking do it.

If you're not fucking stupid you would just buy a laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 port, and connect an eGPU to it.

You could try getting a pico-psu and feed it with an accumulator. This should work as a pico psu takes 12V input. You probably need a car battery though lel.
