Probably just shorting the battery. There are a lot of vaporizers that just do exactly that, look at any "mech mod". That's why vaporizers explode and people get horrible facial burns.

Mech's are fine as long as you use a battery rated for the load.

AW 18650 @1500mah can output sufficient wattage continuously at 0.2 ohms to drain the battery before you get into thermal runaway territory.

Cheap nameless 18650 cells, especially when you don't know the peak or continuous Wattage are a bad move. If you pull more amps than its rated for, or if you short the cell then you'll get venting with flame.

There's a reason most people use Mech's nowadays, it's a lot more foolproof and there are a lot of fools out there.

When a good 200w mech is cheap and will last for years, why risk it with a kludgey piece of shit.

My first vape was a homemade PWM mod using a 555 timer. It worked well enough but it wasn't so great looking and eventually, the mosfet failed. I went and bought a real mod and never looked back.
