Hey guys, I'm going to be moving out to a cabin innawoods next March. I'd like to be prepared but don't know the best resources to go off-grid. What I have so far:
Books:
Back to Basics by Abigail Gehring
Self-Sufficiency on 1/4 Acre by Brett Markham
Websites:
www.instructables.com
Do you have any favorite resources for this kind of thing?

As a canadian trap line enthusiast, I am a living resource. Is there anything specific you want to know or are you more looking to pack reference material?
If the latter is true you could look around at outfitters like cabelas for reference guides instead of bringing text books. Hauling that weight would really piss you off, trust me.

Oh boy. This gonna be good!

How did that bear get so fat?
I'm an ag student and certified permaculturist, if you're looking to start growing food. What's the land like? Local climate?

It's a bear. They get fat, poop, and sleep. That's what bears do.

Holy shit that's one fat bear.... do you need to prick it with a fork before it goes out on a hot day!??

Guy living in a cabin innawoods here.
I'll check back if op returns, I'll check /out/ too.
But seriously, if you need to look stuff up- its going to be a harsh ride.
Better wait until spring is in full swing.
Fresh cabin and no clue with a late frost and your mothers going to find a coyote chewing on your corpse when she comes to visit in June.
