Can't remember the stain and poly specifics. Oil based stain, gloss poly. Lots of sanding. Also a conditioner before staining since it's pine.

I've actually thought about selling a few, just don't have a lot of time to make a bunch though. The new one I'm making it intended for my dad, but I may sell it since funds are right. Pic related, it's massive.
>>
>>1032625
>Also a conditioner before staining since it's pine
What happens if you dont do that?
>>
>>1032640
From my research, staining pine will make it "blotchy." Best way I can describe it. The grain apparently throws it off, the darker grain doesn't absorb the stain as well so it looks awkward. The conditioner supposedly prevents this. I didn't do any comparisons though. I was under a timeline for that bar.

You should youtube "how to make the mini metal foundry" if you buy a graphite crucible instead of steel you can start casting silver for $50. Buy yourself some petrobond off of amazon and look up green sand molding.

>>

He shouldn't use green sand in casting silver. And for a piece that small hes going to need one of those gravity spinners. His best bet would to be buy a small thing of silver and carve it.

Hard saddle bags? 1/2" ply gonna cover it in canvas. Then probably put shellac or polyurethane over the canvas to make it water proof. The flap gonna go over the top and side you see in the picture. I plan on making two for each side but only doing one right now to see how its gonna look on my bike. Trying to make my bike look less like a turd. But I need maximum storage for traveling. After these bags gonna re-do my seat. Gotta order some foam online because i cannot find any real seat foams locally...

Lines all laid up. (double lines are for the sawblades kerf.) its after 9pm and its all humid outside so ill continue this tomorrow. And ill just rip me a 1x1" piece of spruce. tomorrow for the brace near the top edge. Im just hoping it will be enough to keep the plywood from deforming.

What i plan on doing is installing the 1x1 squared brace with like 3 coated 3" screws on both sides (pre drilled of course) then the excess corner ill hand plane the waste away. And finish it off on a belt sander.

I was also thinking about installing blinkers on my bike (doesn't have any, but doesn't need any, I can use hand signals legally) but I don't know what I want to do. I was thinking of either using black pipe end caps or copper pipe endcaps and stuffing as much leds as I could get inside. But then I thought maybe some amber strip LEDs that go along the back but wrap around the sides, might be cool too. Any ideas?

Everything cut. Got more sanding to do to flush everything. I wish I had a working tablesaw wouldn't of taken 4 hours, and I still gotta make the other side!. Gonna switch the square stock for some round i think it will look better.. I also shortened the height by 1 inch and made it wider by 1 inch. And I want to paint the inside instead using the canvas but it wont look smooth. Maybe wood filler. But I don't want to buy wood filler.. So anyways. I think im going to install amber LED strips with a highly defused cover.. Does anyone know how to defuse vinyl tubing? I wanted to use it with the LED strip going through it but only if I can strongly defuse it... I think it will give a clean look.

>>1033462
It also depends how the headlight is mounted. If its attached to the frame I find its more shakey. But if its attached to the forks you don't notice it that much.

Okay i got some scrap vinyl. Just to see what it would look like (but id do dark brown like I wanted the canvas) looks good. But now that I see it.. I don't think it will look good to do the LEDs like I wanted with the fabric wrap. Because the fabrics give it a "soft" feel. And I think the defused LEDs will just kind of soften it too much. So I'm going back to my original idea of finding something round like a black pipe cap, or copper cap. Or hell even pvc. And attaching it that way. Also its gonna be nice to have something my USB port can attach to instead of just giggling around under my seat wrapped in tape.

As for a guide I never really used to others and never planned on making one the only real information that needs to be known about this is that LEDs at most are 70% efficient if you buy expensive ones but most of the stuff coming out of China is only 30 to 50% efficient meaning you have to dissipate the remaining wattage as heat in the case of my 500 watt then I'm going to end up building it's only 55% efficient so I need to dissipate 225 Watts in heat which is also why I think I'm leaning towards doing water cooling when those things done it's going to end up getting mounted in somewhere between an 8 inch PVC pipe that's going to be roughly about a 3 to 4 foot long. My 200 watt one is 19 in long and it's in a 6 inch piece of pipe

Carved out 304SS extended bolsters with a sub-hilt for extra stability/support for when you use a pinch-grip and draw-cutting, handle is ebony with a small bit of lignum vitae I had left with brass wire and crushed turquoise stone inlay. Really like the balance of this knife as its very nimble, little bit of mass but not too much so it'd cause fatigue.
Blade is a 15cm long, 4mm thick and about 40mm wide with a high convex grind, its 5 layers of 15N20 with 5 layers of 1095 steel folded 6 times over itsefl and tempered to about 60RC

Leather belt guy again. Did some freehand improvisational designs with a leather stitch groover and dyed them accordingly.
Attempted to bevel the skull, but it looks pretty rough in this picture. Not really worried about it, the detail should smooth out over time amd the blotchy color job will also even out over time if it doesn't correct itself after a thourough cleaning.

This is going to end up being a pirate bandolier. Near future plans will be to build some functional flintlock pistols to hang off it.
>>
>>1047362
Debating on what color/s to do the remaining undyed ends of this. Was originally thinking keeping it simple and going black--the thought a dark chocolate brown to make the black seem that much darker, and now I'm tempted to do black above the heart and yellow below the skull just as an excuse to use more yellow (it would probably look like shit, but I really like using the yellow).

Any input?

OP have you considered making DIY Aku Aku kits?

Basically pre-finished assortments of eyes, nose, mouth, and accessories that kids and crafty ladies can do themselves?

People would buy that shit up and could supplement your finished product.

Buy some knives and gouges and do wood carving
>>
>>1048009
I was thinking of that anon, my university has lots of woods and it's easy to find large-ish branches that haven't begun to rot. The kind that is good to make staves with. What kind of knife should I search for? I was thinking of buying some small chisels but that is for more elaborate and skill demanding woodcarving.

Do you know of any ideas for a magazine that isn't gravity-driven?
>>
>>1047701
You made your own Gandalf stick? What kind of wood is that and how did you get it/treat it?
>>
>>1048237
not him but there are spring-loaded magazines similar to real guns, and there was one model of nerf gun I personally had as a kid that used a solid block you'd load the darts into, and the magazine would travel across the firing mechanism. Like the Bastard Gun from Metro, actually, but it was made like 10 years before it (though there's an actual WWI-era SMG that uses the same principle)

Got a new phone battery. Extended size though. Extra thick. Old phone back doesn't fit anymore. Old back had the qi charger on it.

No pics.... Working on my phone.

No problem. Just peel it off and stick it on the new back.

But anon the qi pads can't contact the phone pogos though?

No problem. Just tin the pads, some wire, and run a jumper from the pad to the phone.
>>
>>1048254
Is there an ugly looking AC-> DC converter hidden just out of frame?
>>
>>1048264
why not just cut the back of the phone out so the battery could fit

That would look retarded and break the qi pad, it's part of the factory back case.

They look nice.

Have you any plans for the chair or did you design it yourself.

As for selling.
Do you want to earn a hourly wages for you time or just sell it to get rid?
>>
>>1048376
Sell it to get rid. For the design I took it from old chairs my grandma had.
>>
>>1048379
Between 20-40 for the chair
between 30-50 for the table
sounds a fair price to get rid.

I do like the chair, would it be trouble to ask for a few more photos? Ideally the back and how it all fits together?

Only two of them actually look decent so far, the rest are still in training. Waiting for next spring to do a lot of the actual styling on the maple and the juniper. The spruce you can't really make out but that one's good. It's a struggle growing them indoors but this is all the space I have for this; I don't want people stealing these because I'm not exactly in a good part of town (read: I'm not exactly in a good town).

that does have 2 diffusers.

Led's make scary concentrated light. I have no citation but I always assumed those led chips will leave you with a blind spot. All i know is if you look at a 10w chip for a few seconds you see spots for days. I always felt a 100w chip would cause permanant significant damage.

I uh didn't think anybody would respond.

I vaguely followed this guy https://dadand.com/build-a-diy-cat-condo-kitty-tower-scratching-post-cat-tree/

and spent a shit load of time on the carpet because he did a shit job hiding the screws and all that. Take your time and glue the top of the boards under the carpet because the cat will absolutely fuck it up. Buy more rope than you think you need. I used pocket holes to make it look pretty.
