I live on a farm and want to make a windmill like pic related, does /diy/ have any advice on how to make one,
I've never done any work like this before so I don't know anything. Are there any good sites to check out?
How much power can something like this generate and how do I use that power?
I think they were used to run a water pump down a well

This. They are typically for pumping water from a bore and sometimes a dam or river.
If you want to talk electricity generating google fieldlines.

That is a pumping windmill so zero electrical power. Prolly about 350 Watt mechanical.

There is typically 50% more airflow 100 feet up. Getting to the 100 foot mark isnt feasible for most of us. And anything over 50 feet is begging for lightning strikes.
Lol, i've actually pulled an oilwell powered by a windmill. Took longer to rig up than to pull the 3 rods and pump.
