Anything zippo related
Bought one some time ago, but it requires too much maintenance for someone who doesn't smokes.
A small torch lighter is all I need.
>>1024603
This. Zippos are for smokers.
found an old one with K-XI code which apparently stands for 1995
looks like its age but has a nice motive, two pistons crossed with the text "mossimo piston pounders" above
not sure if the clothing company is meant here
not a smoker so probably just gonna lay around
Lost mine when I gave up smoking. Haven't really missed it but I do wish I didn't lose it
>>1024587
i have one from a flea market for $2 and works just fine,it's from 1996 or 7 don't remember
>>1024642Is there a lot of zippos Ib flea markets? Maybe worth a try
>>1024604
Well, it's also for collecting. And for zippo tricks if you're an outcast
I stole one from my neighbour when I was 12,kept it ever since just needs a bit of maintainacne
I have that same brushed brass color
>>1024655
Do you like it? I just ordered mine on Amazon
>>1024587
I'd love to try engraving one. But I would have to learn and get the tools first.
Here are some of mine. Not pictured is a brass 1937 replica I sent in for a new hinge pin and a pipe insert.
>>1024603
Get a butane insert. Problem solved.
>>1024910
I tried two off amazon and both were shit.
>>1024938
Thunderbird or Z-plus?
>>1024944
You know what, I lied. I only tried one, and it was the 'zippo butane lighter' so not an insert.--It was terrible, would not light at all.
I thought I tried two and one was an insert but I can't find an order for it.
Are either of those worth it?
>>1024946
They were well received a few years ago, but who knows if they cut corners or what.
>>1024944
I've had 2 thunderbirds and they're awesome.
Except occasionally the small tube that the flints sit in gets pushed down, so the flint gets jammed against the wheel instead of sparking.
Easy to fix though, just push the screw at the bottom upwards and the tube stays for another couple months.
>not buying an arc zippo
Its like you don't like the future
>>1025416
So there no gas? Just uses an arc instead of a flame?
Doesn't the electrodes get consumed or dirty by having stuff shoved unto it?
>>1025416
Does that work for everything or just cigarettes?
Someday I want to try some variant of this out. Someday...
>>1024827
Neat, got an email saying they received them.
>>1024604
>>1024603
I used to smoke and even then it was too much of a hassle. They're not even really windproof (in a practical way), if it's super windy the flame won't go out but it will basically be "flattened" to the bottom of the chimney so you can't use it for lighting a cigarette (unless you're willing to let it touch the wick, which makes it taste like fuel).
>>1025773
can you trigger the percussion cap on the very edge like that?
>>1026459
>neckbeard-lighter.jpg
>not tippo
one job
>>1026460
He speaks the truth anon. Fuckin disappointed...
My fav one is obviously that diy Metro 2033/last light zippo made by cardman on deviant art... I need one so badly
>>1028412
I didnt realize people actually liked that stupid thing.
I hated it playing through the game. It really bugged me for some reason
>>1028412
those things are goddamn stupid
and good luck getting through an airport with one
>>1024745
Maybe try etching instead? Could be easier, although I've never done it.
How do I keep my brass one shiny besides polishing it all the time?
>>1028620
Carry it in your pocket.
>>1028640
I meant like some kind of wax to prevent the oxidation.
>>1028762
If you want to go for it, but honestly, just carrying it in your pocket will shine it up like a brass bed post in a whorehouse. Try it, it's free. I know I sound like a jerk, but I'm being serious. Just don't overfill it.
>>1028774
No room in my pocket. Phone in one, keys, keys, and knife in the other, and it doesn't move around enough in the watch pocket.
>>1028944
Actually, mine did. Don't smoke anymore, do I don't carry any of them, but when I did, way too shiny
The original one should be your one and only favorite; that is final.
Tippos are cool but they are old tech. There is no reason to buy NEW ones. I can understand old dare I say. "Vintage" ones. But I mean... Bic lighters are study as fuck and you can store them for like forever without drying up.
>>1024587
I have my dad’s 1957 Zippo but I rarely use it, as the lid is kinda loose and sloppy after all those years.
>>1029231
Hinge pin is probably worn out. You can send it in or try to replace it yourself.
>>1028770
I have that exact lighter in my collection. Never use it but it looks great.
>>1029403
Make sure you tell them it's got sentimental value, otherwise they might just send you a new one
Greetings from /co/.
I got one like this.
>>1026459
Im buying that one and making this.
Arclighter beware. Ima f u in the a
>>1025910
And got an email saying they shipped them back. A little over a week, not bad. I wonder if they replaced the knife I found in the ceiling or just tried repairing it.
in a pinch the flints from discarded disposable lighters (bic, scripto etc...) will work in your zippo.
Not a Zippo but looks like one kind of
> forgive the dirty fingernails and hands working on my truck currently
>>1029920
Man, I had one just like that. Totally unrelated question, you ever go down to Louisiana and steal lighters?
>>1025773
Also realize that you would need to register that as an AOW with the ATF if you are in the US.
>>1031119
Because it's disguised as something that's not a gun?
I got a Zippo blu to add to my collection but it never worked right no matter what butane used
I have a Zippo knockoff that doesn't retain fuel as nicely as I wanted, is there any butane/lighter fuel alternatives for a Zippo that isn't a disposable lighter? I bought a cheap pea/pill lighter off of aliexpress which works well but I'm looking for a butane jet alternative so I can feel edgy and cool.
>>1031363
I haven't seen any reviews but these lighters made by Douglass look pretty good. Pic related is a "Douglass Marvelous Tank Lighter Type-J Brushed"
Got a package in the mail today. Brand new blade on the knife, pipe insert and new hinge pin, a couple flints, and a note saying they were displeased with how i was taking care of the brass lighter.
Mine's currently in the gas chamber, should look like this (hopefully) when it's done
i have a few unopened ones for collecting, but my everyday is a zippo armored with a butane insert just like pic related.
>>1031240
Yes.
>>1033069
What, did you send it to Auschwitz to get blued, what is this sorcery?
