So I woke up this morning and started cleaning. I noticed my wooden futon rack was broken and half the seat was dragging on the floor.
I wanted to fix this with the least amount of money and quickly as possible because it's my only day off in 2 weeks.
First I tried screwing a plastic elbow from previous furniture into the wood and when I put weight on it, it snapped.
I went into town and with $2.59 in my pocket, I got some steel elbows and a steel bracket.
I don't own a drill so my next plan was to use a hammr/nail as a drill and then screw the elbows in.
The nail was too short but I said fuck it.
Top bracket installed.
Bottom bracket was a bit harder because fucked up and smashed the nail...but it secured the elbow! So I left it there.
Now with no nail, I had to secure the last bracket on. I sacrificed an extra jewelers screwdriver and made the last too holes (too shallow) and onto the final stretch.
I needed a nut with a cotter key attachment so the futon and freely move. But I don't even have a nut.
Zip tie!
Mission accomplished. And it holds all 180 pounds of me without breaking.
What's my score, /diy/?
