>>
>>1017232
Looking good
>>
Thanks

I was happy with the job.
>>
Very good, well done.
>>
Do you have any pics of it incomplete? Or perhaps you have an album up already of the project on imgur or something?
>>
>>1017232
Looking pretty wonky near the end there. That just the camera fisheyeing?

Good work either way.

picture related is the only one i have b4 i started laying the decking boards. It still had to be leveled at that time.

The board on the end is a face board it was getting hard to see in the dark. So i will fit them tomorrow
>>
Looks very pretty, nice work!

So you left a blank space under the wood?
Or did you fill it with concrete or something else?
>>
>>1017244
>>1017242

Saw the second picture.
All clear now!
>>
There is about 100mm space under the timber. Fixed it to the house then Just blocked under it to stop the sping.
>>
Pressure treated wood? My family terrace is rotting away because we used non treated wood as foundation.
>>
Looks sexy, good job.

My only question about decking is: aren't you basically creating a series of semi-covered outdoor wooden boxes? Seems to me you're inviting critters, accumulated dirt and leaves, damp, etc. Or is the idea to just rip it up and replace decking every 10 or so years?
>>
>>1017278
There are ways to close off a deck underneath so most of that stuff can't get in, chicken wire is common. Depends on the deck and what you're trying to keep out.
>>
>>1017232
Looks very nice. What type of decking did you use?
>>
>>1017232
p good senpai

Would look great with some furniture and a grill, maybe a chiminea
>>
>>1017232
hidden fasteners
continuous planks

nice job fag
>>
The decking boards used are 90mm merbau
>>
It looks really nice.

My autisms doesn't like how you're closing off all that area underneath, even aside from the way that stuff can fall down in the cracks and be trapped in the little tombs forever.

I would drill 2" diameter holes creating a connected airflow path between every little compartment - only connecting each to the next, so you could hook up a shopvac, lay a tarp over the planks on top creating a seal, and suction the whole thing out.

Assuming that slab was sloped away from the house for drainage I would have left notches or a gap to at least help whatever water gets to that deck to drain out from the framing, even if it was the outer 4-ish feet of the perimeter since driving rain and storms would be the only thing that would get it wet. But since its covered I doubt it will get too much water under there to cause any problems, still a damn fine job on the finish decking. Looks great OP.
>>
>>1017257
You can treat it after the fact, you know.
>>
>>1019014
All that would do is move air around. It wouldn't 'suck up' all the shit that fell inside, let alone a furry friend that squeezed in their and died.

The pine was about 100mm off the slab and level from the 2 door sills so there is just a step over the door sill it self. Guy its a 4mm gap from board to board not much is getting down there.
>>
Ahhhhh why are you polying it

op just washed it off so its gonna still be wet like that. you can see all the fuckin water everywhere.

you have never done any house work besides sitting in your moms basement getting fatter and smelling your own farts.
>>
What's wrong with the ground? Why kill a tree and use a bunch of polyurethane for something that's just as hard, and uncomfortable, if not more so, as the dirt/grass it's built over?

Why do people put hours and hours of work into replacing something that already exists; in this case, a nice flat surface to stand/sit/cook on.

Looks great OP.

Is this a new house? That brick is fucking clean.
>>
>>1017232
What made you go with dark brick and black windows? I mean nearly every new house seems to be three different shades of grey and I have never had the chance to ask why?

Have you never driven past an early eighties house that had dark brick and windows and though how bad it looks. What made you think the same colour scheme will age well this time round?

I don't know why everyone is bitching.

That looks very original and gives a homey indoor comfy look.

The crack I think is stupid if you have a lot of different insects in your state/country, but besides that, nice house, nice work, original and nice look of the woodwork.

I had my back deck rebuilt and the carpenters did a substandard job of it. I'll post an image in a bit.

>>
>>1019252
I fell on my ass just looking at this
>>
>>1017232
Doesn't look bad at all. Professional tier. I used to be a carpenter's helper at a decking and carpentry company, one with standards higher than NADRA, which means more work per deck.

Lots of hurricane clips, trex (nightmare plastic shit), steel (rest in peppers drill bits), a few other types of decks. Rarely wood since my boss pushed trex so fucking much.

>>1017242
You did well but could have saved some money with materials on the frame, its not high enough for something like that.
